Guys the title almost says it all :) Completing my 3d printer which came with everything apart power cable. Seller sent me a switch but I'm not happy with it.

I have a power supply with positive, negative plus ground lounge and I want to plug a switch before the power supply because there is none on the machine I want to plug. I will use a Playstation 3 cable. Current is rated for 12V 15A.

Can you guys advise me a switch model which can withstand 12V 15A continuous with ground port included or should I just do it the DIY way and get a continuous ground line in parallel and the switch plugged only on positive and negative lines?

Either way, can you recommend a nice looking switch (like push buttons with led) with currents ratings listed up there?

Please post pic of what you have with the power supply, Im lost. What I am getting is you are going to take the PS3 cable, plug the prongs to the outlet and the other side to the power supply with the switch and fuse?

Is it something like this?

Sorry my question might sound stupid but how am I supposed to solder the ground line on the switch? Apart from integrated plug for my PS3 cable where I can easily see the neutral in the middle, how should I work on the switch?

I use a cheap chinese 12V 30Amp power supply. The switch has tiny writing in English on the back. This is how I wired mine though I might have done it wrong since its common to wire the fuse in line with the hot/live wire. I used 10 gauge wire, not very flexible... Does France use 120 Volts? Im in the US, so I wouldn't know much about overseas mains voltage.

Sorry chuttney I couldn't take pictures sooner, and thank you a lot for your help. Here is my power supply and the three ports, it looks a lot like yours. Current in my country is 220/240V.

The connectors ulook clean, but I'm not sure to have understood how you plug the everything.

BTW what kind of switch is it? I can't find it

Here's is a crude drawing of how everything should be done. From outlet to switch to power supply. I am using the "American" outlet plug and wire convention with red being live/hot, black as neutral and green as ground. I know your country doesn't use this so you will need to figure out which of the wires is the live one on your electrical socket in the wall. I hope you understand the from the drawing the color "wires" going from outlet to switch is the electrical plug cord. If you look closely at the end of the cord to which you plug into the PS3, you will see tiny letter denoting which hole is hot, neutral, and ground.

The link to the switch I posted under the photo of the switch I think you wanted links to the US ebay website. The technical name I believe is IEC320 for the PS3 cord you have.

Ok thank you it is all clear now  yes the wires colors help a lot!

Though sorry i meant plug/clamp not switch (the connector you use to plug every pins and cables), I couldn't find it

Well that's the word I missed :p sorry my native language is not English so sometimes I miss vocabulary, I don't know the French name for the connector so couldn't find it (I was searching under clamp lead wire connector which only gave me alligator type connectors)

Thanks for your help! I'll post pictures of the printer once done ;) BTW what printer do you use?
