Hi everyone, After reading all about these mishaps with shorts and controller failures I think I should be putting an inline fuse on my battery harness. Im running a 15s Lipo on my Mac. What amp fuse do you recommend I use? Also would I obviously put this on my last hot discharge wire out of the battery to the controller? Would I buy something like this: ?

30 amp is not a bad choice for 20 amp controllers. I'd want about 30% more than whatever your controller is rated for. Big fuses are expensive, so you could paralell smaller ones.

its always best to have a inline fuse as the first thing from the + wire of the battery, as dogman have said a 30A fuse should be ok for a 20A controller. if a higher amp fuse is need then you can parallel them up. I use 3x25A blade fuses in my setup.

this is something I need to add to my bike too, but another question is if there's a 'best spot' to put the fuse? I woudn't have thought it'd make a difference where it is, so long as it will isolate the batteries from the controller in the event of a short?

the nearer the battery the better. ( shortest wire possible/practicable from battery to fuse ).
