I have only posted a bit on bicycle components but there is an ebike category.

What are your experiences with MTBR Forums?

I have been a member of MTBR since 1999. It takes MTBR a few years to catch on to new developments as some of the posters there regard their personal feelings pretty highly and can be very argumentative and repetitive which makes for drowsy content. I learned long ago to not engage with those that I didn't necessarily agree with but I still go there some and drop what I consider to be relevant info on the eBike forum and actually was asked by Francis to mod the forum which I refused. It seems to be aligning as mostly sympathetic to EU regulation type bikes and trail access issues and I find that there are other forums that are way more informative and focused on open source theory, like ES.

Although still focused on EU reg bikes I find EMTB, a UK based forum, to be informative about how that segment is progressing.

I had checked in to MTBR once in a while because they have grat info on the discussions about the parts on their bikes. Their IGH discussions and pics were especially helpful.

At one point, I noticed they had created a new ebike section, so I joined and posted that I would answer any questions that newbies might have. One responder asked "why am I here?" even though I was posting in the ebike section. To be fair, he might not have known about the new ebike section, and was just skimming new posts.

The most consistent concern was that wild riders hooning would get some of the mountain trails shut down, after it had taken a lot of time and effort to open them up to MTB's, Many of the riders put in significant time grooming the MTB trails and single-track DH runs.

Mountain bikers are inherently hostile toward ebikes. This usually melts away in person as long as you don't piss them off by going "too fast" cuz they can't deny the awesome presence of a motorized bike. Online it's just some vague new enemy upsetting the status quo and spitting at those years of hard work spinning pedals, so they tend to be more dismissive.

So MTB forums are at best a mixed bag for ebike discussion, but these same people in real life probably would compliment your bike.

Bike Forums has a friendly e-forum primarily because the Moderators cull the cretins. MTBR has a so-called super mod who is diametrically opposed to e-MTB's.
