what are your other hobbies

Like the Wolf up there I do a style techno music type thing on PC with software synths and recording. Played the guitar for 25 years or so, I build good PC'S and have an extended knowledge of problem shooting windows os PC's.

Ive done web design and customised php mods to forums but hate it.

Im desiging a battery charger ATM based on my 72v bad boy chargers and LM338 5amp regulators.

Ill post my some of my tunes when I'm on the other PC.

Alternative human interfaces, multi-modal systems, paradoxical logic, and nature. In revese order.
Words that are strictly true seem to be paradoxical. We go into the same river but it's not the same.
I am a logician, but didn't seek to be one, too many questions, not enough answers, I fell into it.
All important things in life are paradoxes, and most people are wasting most of their energy.

We could tap that wasted energy by placing those humans in vats and give them an alternate human interface to keep their logic in use. Some wouldnt even notice they were hooked up to the MATRIX.

I like to make things work with the materails available, eg scrap. If its plastic or silcon or of unexplained origin and would normally be thrown in the bin I will put that otherwise wasted energy into some use.

I have a pet hate for useless McDonalds happy meal toys. Ive not found a use for one yet.

If we could focus all that wasted energy with a fresnel lense or something, maybe with peizoelectric transducers it could charge my battery.
Go ahead and waste energy if you must everyone, I'll use it for opportunity charging.

LOL.

Hey don’t humans oscillate brain waves at theta or some shit like that. Well that’s what you mean isn’t it?

Yeahh we could tap from their brain waves. Similar as some guy that figured he was getting free power only to find he got shut down because he was impeding the broadcast transmission output of a nearby radio transmission site .

You may have discovered a way to impede human thought!

Send out brain wave an inducting signal and figure out how to milk the output with the piezoelectrics. Maybe the ocellations is out of bandwidth with standard systems but I’m sure we could reverse engineer it.

Now would that do us any good or make stuff worse.?

I used to do lots of mechanical stuff. Rebuilt the motor on my 76 midget. Way built up it is. ;^) Installed several hundred watts worth of stereo with three amps and lost the spare tire for a 15 inch bass. Rebuilt the and upgraded the suspension and much more. Then I got very sick and found I had HCV. Probly from a syringe stick I got in a city bus. So with very little energy and or strength I had to change hobbies to something less physical. Took up collecting and modifying Mostly Crosman airguns and became a moderator on the http://www.network54.com/Forum/275684/ Forum. Built a few computers a nice stereo and started putting several hundred albums on the hard drive. Found a mini-lathe to make gun and bike parts with and... Way to many things of interest and way to many projects going at once. Only hope I live long enough to see all I have planned and started completed. The motor sits in front of the MG just waiting to go in. Ten or twelve airguns one made in 1923 sit in pieces waiting to be put back together. Trashed my arm last year so plenty of projects are now on long-term hold. Spent over a year building the latest e-bike but somehow I managed to get it on the road just lately. Life is good even at it’s worst.

That sig is wild along with those pics. Don't be alarmed.

Holy air guns batman! Do you have something against powder driven projectiles? :p
I'm just teasin, I think airguns are great. Quiet, so you can shoot them anywhere anytime something soft needs a neat little hole punched in it.

My hobbies... Hmm... I'm gona have to go with John in CR here. Struggling to avoid knocking up young beautiful foolish things will always be my primary hobby.

Otherwise, my coral reef, racecars, superbikes, dirtbikes, laser and lighting design, engine design, and alternative energy research/design are all tied as my second most favorite hobbies.

Love the aquariums never have done the salt water stuff myself though but did give it some serious thought. How much NO2 you feeding the fish? is that why they be smiling? I can shoot in the basement with some of the airguns. The 9mm 1100 shotgun and a couple of the .25s are a bit much though sound like firearms when they go off, even though they are not, ;^) so I am afraid the police might come to visit. Actually built the last e-bike to get me out to the mountains to shoot them. Got rid of all my powder burners when the wife, now X, tried to shoot herself. Have been trying to get a couple of them back but getting ammo these days is something else. I drive a 92 Accord has 220k thinking bout a jdm engine next year. Son-in-law is a mechanic so he could do the heavy stuff. Gave him my 600 Ninja, as I am to beat up to ride it any more. Said he would put the engine in my MG for me so looking forward to that. Looks like you have almost enough to do to stay out of trouble? ;^)

I just use that N20 bottle for CO2 to be used to drop pH in the calcium reactor to help pump up Ca+ ion levels as the corals skelletons grow. If I could get medical grade N20, I might try making the fish happy with it, but all the automotive use stuff is 10ppm sulfer dioxide, which just gives you terrible headache when you get a leak rather than make you giggle. :(

For your accord, I would recomend an H22A over an F-series like you current have. You will pick-up around 50bhp, and the car would give you loads more pleasure to drive :) It's a very simple swap, basically just bolt it in, and swap the ECU. I think you need to run 1-2 new wires as well, but it's nothing difficult.

Sounds like a good deal on making the wife into an X-wife. That's scary stuff.

Not enough to stay entirely out of trouble, as I ended up failing in hobby #1, and ended up making one of these:

On the bright side, at least it was with a beautiful, tall, and cleaver girl, so he should have some good genes :)

Interesting...

I used to play with guns and still have a collection, but haven't been out to the range for a long time.
I'm also a radio amateur, AC6GQ. Strange how ham radio and guns seem to go together. Check out Hiram Percy Maxim.

Many years ago ran electric RC boats and cars. Technology has vastly improved since those days.

This is my therapy hobby. I am building Boeing P12 of F4B from WW1 from original blueprints 1:10. After almost 10 years the plane is nearly finished and it is time to make engine in next 10 years....

LFP,

You've probably even had a pet cuttlefish, haven't you? I'm so jealous of having that kind of natural beauty (your corals) indoors.

Thank you kindly John :) If I ever get off my duff and move to CR, I will build you your own tank, and make it even cooler :) You've got the right latitude to use natural sunlight, and I would setup solar powered water motion systems, and use buried pipes in the ground for holding temp regulation. If you were willing to take a monthly trip to the beach to collect some natural sea water, that would be about everything a reef would need to thrive.

At the moment, I've managed to get a banded cat shark egg to hatch in my tank after 3 months of incubation. Most reefkeepers tell me I'm nuts for letting a shark grow in my tank, but I'm loving it. So far he has chomped down about a grand in exotic ornamental shrimp (which I accepted would happen).

I did try to hatch a cuttlefish egg in my tank, but I think it was damaged by shipping, poor little guy never hatched. Cuttlefish and octopus both are amazing predators, so you gotta be willing to loose fish once in a while if you don't keep them well fed. To me, that seems like a fine trade-off to get to observe such amazing animals from the convince of the living room. :)

I'm so jealous you get to look out your windows and experience wild rainforest. I want that bad! Reef in the living room, with a rainforest out the window. Tough to live better than that IMO :)

wow, so many interesting hobbies!

I'm into programming, 3D modeling, and writing video games for PC's, but don't get enough time to finish anything :|
I wrote a couple of physics demos for http://www.jmonkeyengine.com/ the "ragdoll" and "breakable joints" demos
here's one of my models, a bike I never finished in Blender

as soon as it's released I want to write some code for the Pandora http://openpandora.org/ I have my preorder in , just waiting for it to be manufactured

lately I've been into learning how to use my new lathe and milling machine

and if I ever have some time to waste I play "enemy territory" best game ever IMO

Too much rain for my tastes in the rain forest. There are very many micro climates here, so you can get just about anything you want except snow. The house I think you would have loved is one I made an offer on a day late back in '98. It's situated overlooking 2 different valleys (one extending all the way down to the Pacific), with one valley view out of each end of the house. The house is located in Atenas, which some years ago National Geographic rated as the town having the best climate in entire the world. Oh I almost forgot, that house is right at the top of a very curvy mountain decent that gets resurfaced just about every year, so perfect for a running at the edge on 2 wheels junkie like yourself.

Also, if you have any kind of sweet tooth for latin girls, you better make darn sure you're ready to move before coming for a visit. Few guys don't want to stay once they get here. It's the wives that have a harder time.

Yes, the H22A is the plan. I found the wiring thing somewhere now just have to get the MG done and out of the garage.

Yup X was gorgeous and the most talented person I ever met. She got pretty scary towards the end, to many drugs me thinks, and I thought it best to not have the guns around. Brother got weird too he has had nice high wall, with razor wire on top, around him for the last 22 years, free rent, food and a place to sleep too. He liked the drugs also but they were more than a hobby.

Oh that "other hobby you have" he probly will take up a bit of time but likely will be one of the few that really mean something later in your life. ;^) Would be nice if you could keep the mom around to help she sounds nice enough. Might be a good idea to lock her up in the basement or sumpthun cuz it's hard raising them on yer own. ;^) Better hurry. ;^)

At some point, he decided he was unhappy with the way a few posters treated him, so he went on "delete text" rampage. Of course, all of everyone's posts on ES are preserved, but nobody wants to go to the effort of reposting them.

Thx! That's a bummer. I like to read offwall thoughts that require contemplation as long as they're not personally nasty/hurtful/derogatory, and it seems like their's might have been good for that-oh well.
Wish dude the best regardless of that outcome/reaction etc.

Another offtopic, not sure where to address this, or how, but arkmundi and dmnun have been gone for awhile- i hope whatever happened (privately i guess) that may have caused their absence may still have open channels for resolution? I like those guys regardless of different viewpoints. Don't wanna see anyway go away mad, or even go away.
