wow, wild bill gelpke. thats mine also he was a freekin outlaw dude.cops shot him cuz he wouldnt listen to them.drove 100 plus miles an hr everywhere yeehaw wild bill!

Kinda amazing he went 90mph everywhere in that massively underpowered contraption.

Under 80rwhp, 3250lbs, and the worst 2spd on earth for a bike has gotta make it boarderline on even meeting the highway travel acceleration minimums for merging. Worse power to weight than most of our ebikes.

My favorite bike is my GSXR1000. 1080cc high compression race engine with big cams in a 380lbs bike. Roughly 180-190hp, under 500lbs with me on it. If you have the balls and road to do it, it will hold 200mph from empty to full on the tank with no complaints. 100mph power wheelies on the freeway are just a normal part of riding her.

Here's my favorite:
It's my son's bike, but he's away at college and left it home for me. No, it can't go 200mph or do wheelies at 100mph, but I rarely can hit 60 on the roads I mostly ride on (west Marin). It handles better than anything else I've ridden and has lots of low end torque, like a tractor. Buells have some very interesting features, like the gas tank is inside the frame and that insanely large front disk that's designed to not put any braking torque on the front wheel spokes. I like the sound of it more than an inline 4 too. I hate whiney motors.Buell XB9_small.jpg

Buel make have made some beaudiful bikes... I have a few favorites none Jap bikes though
Ducati all the way babe' Just for Luke i'll say a 1098s Duke coz i know he also has so much
<3 for the single swing arms  For off road would have to be either the 400 or 450 EXC KTM.

I'm old school, I guess. I rode about 85,000 miles on my 1976 Honda Goldwing. No bloat, no bags, no gingerbread. I did break down and put a Vetter Fairing on her for long interstate ride comfort. Went to the west coast twice, and did the Blue Ridge Parkway about 6 times on her. Loved every minute. Never got hurt, only went down once on ice and slid like a hockey puck. ... I miss those days... a lot.

Not mine, but just about a clone of it.

Donnie Hanson was unbeleivable on this bike.

Hell yeah Big Moose - Long live 4cyl GL's! Mine's '81 1100 now about 162k miles of which 140k I put on. Countless tires...

This photo is from 2003 or so when I brought home 1st auto parts store escooter - seemed fitting.

It's a little rattier today but still fires off at a touch of the starter button. I've rode big/little Harleys and large BMW's - GL is best of both worlds and then some. No carb problems - 'never ever sits more than a couple weeks between rides. Timing belts every 50-60k, some oil changes, filters, air, etc., most buttleproof bike I've ever owned and ridden.

I have had so many favorite bikes over the years I find it difficult to decide. First it depends on what you are doing; In the bush hunting or fishing. Needing cheap transportation. On winding roads having fun. Or touring for weeks with DW.
Norton Dominator 88 was a good first bike except the ball ends of the pushrods went down the tubes like a finger in the end of a banana. Then the frame broke just below the steering head and put me in a barbwire fence.
Most bikes handle better than I can ride so for comfort at speed with baggage and DW, I have to pick the GL-1800 Goldwing as my current favorite. I have owned wings from '76, '83, '84, '93, & '95. The '93 had 326,000 miles on it when I had to split the case for a bent shifter fork. The crosshatching was still in the cylinders. 1/2 a set of rod bearings and rings were all that were replaced.
I found this 1984 with 1300 miles on it sitting in a shed after 20+ years;450IM001.jpgImage01.jpgImage0044.jpg

Ykick, that was my experience with the GL1000! Changed oil, plugs every two years and timing belts once. Never once had a failure or needed to be recovered. My buddy (also GL1000) and I towed a lot of Harley's home with our belts as tow straps over those years. I never had tire problems though, got good life out of Dunlop gold seals.

I have 3 pairs of new timing belts for 4 cylinder GW's if anyone needs them, PM me.

this was my bike and my favorite of all time and i had mostly 50s-60s panheads.phpwG1jS0PM.jpg

you guys probably wouldnt consider this a motorcycle, but i would say mines would be the yamaha ysr50.
91ysr.jpg

ive ridden my friends that looks exactly like the one in the pic and it was fun. i just wish i could find one for sale.
i know its not the fastest or the most powerful thing in the world, but its one of my favorites.

Kinda hard to narrow down to just one.

Favorite I owned, a Suzuki trials 250.

One I'd like to own now, the yamaha above. Those fat tires would be great going up big sandy arroyos.

Most memorable. Bob Duffy's world record smallest motorcycle. He used to store it on top of the coke machine in his shop. That was back in the 70"s when he was the guiness record wheelie holder, and guiness record rider of the smallest motorcycle.

1965 Honda 305 Scrambler, just the right balance of power to weight for a teenager back in the day:

They were cheap then, now they're outrageous, like 4 grand!

I took my motorcycle road test on one back in 1974.

I've got some odd favorites. The first is a Honda TRL200 Reflex. Not only was it a Trials bike, it was street legal! Just what I needed at 15  It would go places any normal dirtbike would Flail and fail

The other Favorite in the High performance catagory is a Suzuki Hayabusa. Here's a picture of one:

Well, it was one. The bike is so fast, it didn't stick around long enough for you to see it.

I do not remember the price, but I very well remember the first ride. The owner was riding my bike beside me. When I stopped, he got on with me behind and took it up and shifted like I had. Then he cranked it to what sounded like 10,000 rpm and shifted. WOW! They kept up to our British 650's with no trouble.

Yes the jappers knew a thing or two about getting them to go, my first was a T250 with similar drum brakes back in '78, you had to squeeze real hard for any stopping power, only had 5 mostly small bore with one 900 yamaha, didn't get my favorite yet but it would be similar to beast's Monster Duke or similar style V twin Buell or Moto Gutz, like the nakeds maybe with small bikini fairing
