What mtb 26 in. conversion kit should I buy TODAY?

From there I just looked for the cheapest that had a juicy torque number. It’s on its way. I didn’t know it at the time but have since been able to identify it I think as bafang G900 aka h640?
On the battery. Don't buy a battery where the brand and model of cells inside aren't in the description (e.g. LG, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung...).

Motor seems nice, based on this video. At least on the video, sounds relatively quiet for a geared motor.

I do like the Bafang hub motors myself, I have a mountain bike still which has a 48V rear hub which I ride once in a while for long rides, think it was the first hub motor I brought, but have tended to stick at the moment with my lightweight TSDZ2 powered mountain bike. Police here in the UK are checking bikes more especially in major towns like London etc and confiscating them due to the snatch and grab robberies on high power e-bikes which have been clocked at up to 45mph thro' London, they use ride stolen 125cc scooters. We are now at the point that is if your e-bike is not a known brand it be will deemed more or less illegal.

Thanks guys. I ended up dumping dollars to get a quality 52V battery with name brand cells. Then I saw it didn't come with a charger and wanted to see if I could get a GaN charger to keep it compact... and can only find them for 48v batteries. I would probably switch to 48v battery just to go that route but the sources with the cells I want are almost the same price so sticking with 52 for that sweet power, plus I already spent way too much time looking

@99t4 AliEx ... I believe I'll get what I ordered but their search and listings make it painful for sure!

@amberwolf yup and yup. So painful these days. Amazon was the early offender, it's been impossible to search for inexpensive stuff on their for a while. They seem to want to get $20-30 per item minimum and make it pretty hard to get stuff for less. I often find it's cheaper to buy things in store. They realized people are there for the convenience now and taking advantage. But now that is becoming adopted by many online marketplaces. Makes me appreciate Target...

@dgc I'm also seeing things that are not deliverable to my address. Didn't seem to be anything to do with the contents but did throw me off for sure. I hope that reamer shows up. RE: roberies and illegal e-bikes - Yikes! Some people trying to ruin the fun for everyone...

@E-HP Nice, EBikeBuilder seems to be a pioneer for G0900 mods (on video at least). I pretty much checked out all his videos there and excited to see he adapted it to VESC/Flipsky already. That said... he had to take it apart (painfully) to put in a temperature sensor and I won't have time to tackle anything like that for a while

yes thanks, the reamer turned up today, it looks good, will in the next few days remove the crank set and open the BB up to take the TSDZ2 mid-drive, was surprised by the size difference between the thread IDs and the plain central bore.

The problem for us normal e-bike riders here in the UK is: "an ‘e-bike gang’ of four who violently stole jewellery worth £43,000 from an individual on a London street were jailed. All four of the convicted gang members rode electric bikes to and from the scene of the crime" and also " Police in the City of London have seized more illegal e-bikes than any other force - with one capable of 70mph."

[re: GaN charger]
How much more compact are we talking about? How well matched is it to your battery? (amperage and charge cutoff method?)

I haven't tried a GaN charger so far, but I'll note that none of them seem to have fan cooling. That would remove the single most common failure mode of inexpensive chargers.
