hi!

i´ve been searching all day long now and still couldn´t find a quality 48V LiFePo4 Pack with only ~10,12 or max15 Ah having a cont. discharge of 30A.

the 10Ah pack i have at the moment http://www.conhismotor.com/ProductShow.asp?id=43 has a max. of 30 but the rated discharge is only 12 A . i didn`t know that when i ordered it - only thought 10Ah should be enough for 15km trips and i wanted to keep my bike light. now that i know that my 1000W controller drags up to 30 A i guess it´ll kill it soon, right?

any suggestions?

Well you are not going to be pulling 30A continuously so as long as your present battery BMS isn't tripping it should work OK. If you really want to buy a new battery then you could try the guys at evassemble, they advertise a 48V/12Ah battery good for 36A continuous;

BTW the specs for your battery don't make sense, it says it's a LiFePO4 battery but then says 13 cells at 54.6V charge which would make it LiCo,LiPo or LiMn.

Your current battery could last, depending on how you ride. But I agree, you need more ah if you have lots of stop signs and lights, or hills, and like to ride full throttle. Riding 5 mph less than full throttle would do a lot to make the battery your have last.

For small but high amp batteries, lipo is the way to go of course. You might consider that when your current battery does give up.

You could try a LiFeBATT 48V / 14H Pack. Max. Continuous Discharge = 42A. Energy Density = 122 wH/kg. Contact me direct: don@lifebatt.com

Hi Pedalex

I have bought my 48v 12hr/ from BMSbattery , cells 38140s. that pack of battery is only 6.7Kg total weight. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kentlim26 lots of troque for my hub motor, it is obvious winner over vpower cells. 40% obvious power and it can do all the way ...50km/h. i don't know i should suggest you to buy from them or not, becasue their service is not up to Good commitment for the battery sending ! :evil: if you know how to communite with those seller for bmsbattery is okay. the battery + shipping cost is only USD461.00 ..Not bad. i can still afford. For price , i think BMSbattery will win.. BMSbattery. they will takes at least 2weeks + 2 days to ship your battery. the cells 38140s is a 10C...

my intention for my this purchase, i wanted to run at least 40km/h - 51km/h for target distance of 34km. peak 1500watts ... all the way. if this battery dies, i will go for lipo for sure. i think it will needs at least 400watts.

cheers

EVA LiFePO4 48V 12Ah battery pack

i think that pack is same cells like mine. cells 38140s !! wow... very good. it can easily give you at least 500watts !!, from the 6.7Kg. yes. that weight is very acurrate. becasue i wanted this battery to last me long enogh, i will try to used up 400watts. the troque is so much Different from the pack you are using 48v 12hr,, OR even my 48v 20hr is totally no match for this "EVA LiFePO4 48V 12Ah battery pack " i just speculated that cells is 38140s. i have read your thread, you like to used pedal senor, but maybe this one may not work. (becasue the pick up speed more faster... OBVious, you know Totally DIFFerent." please.. put up your review. that day, i ebike until 45km (total range) i came back home,, it has power, but i just wanted to used not more then 80% of the density/ current. 460watts (max)... i know it can go some more, but i have stop there and come back home.

cheers

yes, i only (99%) use the PAS instead of the throttle. why shouldn´t it work? too much power? :twisted:
at the moment i have a 5 magnet sensor plate - the faster i pedal the more impulses -> more throttle. i´ve already bought an extra sensor plate with 8 magnets of which i´ll take off every 2nd magnet and so by reducing to 4 it reduces impulses and throttle. maybe will go further and leave only 2 magnets. but put the 5 magnet plate with another sensor on the other side of the bike and use a switch to choose between them
