When did you first really learn that Life Ain't a Party?

Uhhh, life isn't a party? News to me, of course I am a balloonatic. We're known for starting the drinking at about 8:30 am. 8)

Some times it crashes. Some times it crashes real bad.

Some days you're the dog, and some days you're the hydrant.

That's just part of the party. The key is turning it into lemonade, and if you're luck enough to be a party animal like Dogman and myself, turning that lemonade into a nice sweet/tart Italian ice on a hot summer's day, or whatever your choice of beverage may be. :D

The debate is frequently about "glass half full or half empty". My glass is almost always full, except when I share my glass with someone of my choice.

When my glass does get too empty, I go for a bike ride and it gets full again.

A neighbor of mine who makes a LOT of money but is in very poor health, JUST tonite realized:

High fructose corn syrup might not be good for his diabetes

that he should not eat so much trans fatty acids

that he should consume fewer calories than he needs so he can loose weight

that electric bikes require some level of exercise.
--

And so Tuesdsay I clean out his cupboards and we go for an ebike ride.

Sooo Life wont be a party that day, but the glass will be shared, and re-filled.

You get out of life what you put in. Just like a computer- garbage in garbage out.

As the Beatles tried to put it- but didn't get it quite right in the song "The End" - from Wikipedia...

"Lennon misquoted the line slightly; the actual words are, "And, in the end, the love you take/ Is equal to the love you make."

Translation: If you are unhappy it's your own fault. Do something about it. The lord helps them that helps themselves and all that rot.

I got peed on by a dog a few months back. I was sitting on the ground and he ran up and whizzed on my back. Before he could finish he got a strong elbow to the nuts  He wasn't expecting it any more than I was expecting to get peed on!

Finally, RW started a topic that left him speechless....in the meantime, the party continues for those who know how to host their own life-long party.

Agreed, and my favorite concise way of saying it is "You reap what you sew."
