great BMX :D

what fork is that?
what was the reason for front motor?

Thanks. It is a CroMo fork from Ruff Cycles in germany (with shortened legs on this one). The bike was thrown together out of my left-over parts-bin, so front motor is just a coinsident.

Before: 2011 Specialized Hardrock pro

After:

10S2P Lipo
KU123 controller (mounted in box in frame)
BPM II 36v 500w 201rpm motor
Twist and go throttle

So far I've been really happy with it. I'm contemplating a more suitable location for the battery pack. Unfortunatley it doesn't quite fit in the AlpKit bag, so I'm using my rucksack for now.

Blue chip customer heard about my mods at the LBS, drove up in a $250k car and demanded I supply at any price "the best f*#king ebike in Australia".

Spent a lot of time going through his riding style and areas. Talked him out of a 2WD fatbike for his hunting trips, and was given the go ahead for the ultimate donor bike.

Light, agile and well sprung was the outcome. Needs pedigree.
No riding around on a 2 kilowatt hour washing machine for him.

Before: Brand New GT Fury out of the box (courtesy of the referring LBS!)

After:
2kW gearmotor and the full welding treatment - including cutting at the suspension point and backfilling with a lot of metal.

lovely,

did you cut the frame? It's hard to see but it looks like you've just widened it to take the bats... bit under power and range for most me but looks stealth.

Thanks for compliments!

Not much of plug n play. Although I didn't have to weld or reweld anything on the frame, I had to cut some excessive stuff off, but I had to fabricate custom motor mount, and all other mounts for batteries, charger, controller, dcdc converter, box with display.

Motor mount was the toughest bite: (it's painted black now)

I've recently completed a conversion of my 27 year old GT Tequesta. It's definitely brought new life into this old bike of mine. Here’s a similar bike (not mine) to show a before picture since I didn't think to take one myself:

Here's a picture of the bike while on a ride earlier today:

I've also set up some toggle switches (for Lyen Controller options) , ignition key and an inexpensive Watt meter/bicycle computer for fun:

There is still an Additive V2 bag to go on(for long distance rides) but its not here yet.

Currently has a pair of 16Ah Multistars in the bag and a further 2s of 13Ah lipo is coming this afternoon.
Once the V2 gets here I can decide what batteries to get for it but hoping to get another 4 16Ah in.
Just needs a rear mudguard on now and its finished(well, until I think of something else it needs}
