i installed a yuyang king controller and had to disconnect my volt meter as i have no idea where to hook up the black wire as of yet. its one of those ignition voltage meters. when i was running a generic chinese 48v controller, my full charge was at 54.6. now the yuyang king is detecting 53v(60%) but my charger already turned green. any idea whats going on? 13s6p battery hg2.

I'd double check the voltage with an actual multi meter. The voltage will drop when plugged in and even more with the key on. On my controller the voltage is accurate so I'd trust it. Also the 60% is just the state of charge out of whatever the maximum voltage the controller can handle. For instance if your controller can handle 80v and you plug a 40v battery it would say 50% in the app.

I may be wrong but the black or ground should go to your ignition switch so the meter comes on with the key. Again check the actual voltage with a real multi meter and the voltage display itself has a screw on the back to adjust to the right voltage. Do not rely on that meter to be accurate without testing first. I've received some more than 5v off before proper adjustment. I hope this helps

thanks, this controller is rated up to 72v and i didnt know that the app measures from there. Placed my mind at ease.
the external voltage meter are usually off by a few points yes, just never saw a 53v charge on this batt before so i got worried. was thinking a bluetooth controller app would measure more accurately. will check w the multi meter as suggested.

lastly, ive hooked up the ignition green and red wire to go in between the jumper cables of the controller. its pos and ground so if i tap the ground wire of the volt meter, i know itll short. still trying to work around it :( on my old controller, i simply installed it on the lcd wiring. red ang green meter wiring in between the pos of the lcd and the black ground to the ground of the lcd also.
