Update to my project!

My next generation ebike is now functional! Just took it out for it's maiden cruise.

I'm calling this version 1.0 because I'm not completely satisfied with the configuration and want to build a custom battery box over the frame.

Now I'm working on modifications. I'll call this v1.5

I'm now running 72v (was 48v), mounted controller under frame, LED headlight, and added a water bottle mount within reach. NOTE: The rear bike rack bag is completely available for storage there is nothing ebike in it.

Still a work in progress...

Thank you for all the information found on the site. I'm now happily e-assisting me and the kids up Seattle's hills.

Here's our Larry vs Harry Bullitt with Bafang 750W mid-drive.

Here is my first ebike build. I was originally going to install the Yescom 48V 1000W 26" Front Wheel kit on my old Huffy MTB but the front fork only had an 8 mm axle slot. So my wife ended up getting our first ebike. She absolutely loves it! The 48V 20AH battery looks to be good for an easy 50 miles. I have another battery currently on order and I'm actively shopping for a new conversion kit for a Townie 21 700c bike I picked up used on Craigslist.

More work to do but it's rideable now and really fun.

Somehow these photos are in reverse order.

I've just recently got a triangle battery so I'm doing at bit of install and making a leather jacket for it.

Here's mine, it's not done yet, few more touch up to complete....well it will never get done to be honest, I will always find something to upgrade....

Because the frame is so small, 15", I had a hard time finding a battery that would fit. My first battery was a LifePo4, 48V25Ah so it was big and heavy and had to use a rack and a bag to hold. I never like the looks so I decided to look for an alternative battery. On my third battery, it still would not fit inside the little frame so decide to install it outside the frame. It was a good move, much lower center of gravity so the bike is so well balance and so much easier to control. Less weight too and sure looks so much better. I need to find a way to mount the controller better... next month perhaps so I will update the pic!

Subtle! lol  I still like it though! Is that a hub motor in a cast wheel? Don't know if I've ever seen that.

Yap that's a motorized hub. I bought on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/24V-60V-Brushless-26-20-inch-Magnesium-Geared-High-Speed-Hub-Motor-UP-TO-2000W-/161819906061?

Thought I'd finally post a picture of what happened to the bare Mental Manno frame that I picked up from Neptronix (https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=58070). I'd really really like to thank Dred for designing a wonderful frame that is super versatile.

Obviously the frame is the Mental Manno (Dred/Neptronix). Motor is The Crown 80 from Grin (Justin). Battery is a 21S10P using 29E's from em3ev (Paul). Chain Ring is a Schlumpf HSD from ebikessf (Iliya). Bag is a custom job from Porcelain Rocket (Scott).

The bike isn't nearly as classy as the actual Mental Manno (https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=53628), but it gets me to and from work and has good speed/torque.

This is my second ebike build. I found an Electra Townie 21 700c on Craig's List that was almost brand new except for a slightly bent front wheel. I installed a 1500W 700c rear direct drive motor with 35A controller conversion kit from eBikeling off Ebay. The battery is a 48V 20AH triangle battery and bag from Shenzhen K E Technology off AliExpress. I found the 1500W motor from eBikeling to be a much more powerful, quieter and generally better quality motor than the 1000W Yescom motor I used on my first build. The battery and controller are housed inside the triangle bag. The rear rack and bag are used to carry refreshments.

Not much different on it, but the trike now has both big batteries on it, so 50Ah (but slightly different voltages, so not paralleled; one is 14s EIG NMC, the other is 16s A123--could probably parallel them but haven't made an SB-50 Y-connector for it yet).

And the CAv2.23 is now on the trike

Also had a repair to the steering tiller tube, and pondering this windshield....

Got my Bafang BBS02 48V 750W mid-drive kit yesterday from EM3EV. Spent the morning putting it together and went for a 27km ride this afternoon. What a blast. Donar bike was an Ironhorse Warrior Disc front suspension hardtail mountain bike that I picked up on kijiji a couple weeks ago for $200.
