Your Creation's Before & After Pics

first pic shows bike soon after it was bought and it mostly sat with plans for rather far future or doing christmas tree's job meanwhile.

every pic must be under 500kb or 400kb not sure it must got green tick if its ok to upload

if its a 20" get a 16" motor bike tire 120/70 for rear =]]

Picked up this pathetic 72V AGM 2000W Chinese Zuma clone back in September 2018 from Craigslist on the cheap.
While it was only one year old at the time, the owner had abused the bike royally, but I didn't care as I had other plans.
Eleven months later with a bunch of sweat equity, I created the bike I always wanted, and she rides like a dream.

new battery 13S 4P Samsung INR18650 25R /high drain/
this where i am at now
not finished i had work to do redid my old battery and sold it to a friend =]]

i got a invertor welder Raider RD-IW21 , 20-120A
when my batery is at 40v 13s/3v/ when i start charging with the welder it puts into the batery 16-18A then slowly start to drops
the amps when the voltage get up and near 50v and up is under 6A and near 54v is under 5A
so i got full charge from 3v to 4.3v on the volt meter for 55min and i waited 15min the battery voltage drop to 4.2v
this is sooo cool but not all battery packs can be charged like this this inverter outputs 65v on open
and if your pack is higher voltage than 54.6v you will not charge the entire battery if batt voltage is more than inverter voltage

I can post a full shopping list if anyone is interested

First of all this was an absolute nightmare of a learning curve but well worth it...so much fun. I cant tell you how many cable ties I've used!

I built the rear wheel from scratch using a Mavic XM319 rim with x36 12g stainless steel spokes
upgraded to 185mm disc rotor to fit around the hub, however, had to grind away 2mm of my mounting bracket to gain some extra clearance on the frame

All the wiring just about fits into a small aluminium drinks bottle and the battery I've fixed to the frame using the bottle mounts and 50mm half coupler clamps.

I've only ridden it a couple of miles and its fast.. under her own steam she'll do 24kph but with me peddling well let's just say it nippy.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share with you all the minibike I build from a bike.
It a BBS02 500w and a battery of 48v 17.25ah

I forgot how rad this forum is.
This thread is the sort of thing that gets people hooked.

IMAG0448.jpg

I hate to spoil it for everyone. .. but this is clearly the baddest bike on the forum right now.

See how I have that battery case mounted so it stops me from pedaling???

and... that is the famous controller that sat out in the rain until it started going full throttle randomly.

Here is a shot from a series we did on Ingress and the effects of Sealed, Vented, and Fan cooled containers. The end game is that a sealed enclosure will suck in water, a vented enclosure works very well, a fan-driven enclosure brings with it a lot to think about.

20190330_102625.jpg

These are the connectors we are using for the Ebike now. On the limit, but good enough.

I've been working on this BMX build for a while. The goal was to make something extremely light, fast, and fun for short trips around town, and to and from the path trains. So far, it's exceeded my expectations. It weighs about 38 pounds, and has a 42mph top speed. No PAS. No display. No wiring mess. Just throttle and go.

Most current specs:
Sunday Wave C Frame - all 4130 chromoly
Echo Urban 20" aluminum trials forks
Custom titanium handlebars, 9" rise.
Sun Ringle Envy 24" rims
Sapim race spokes
Profile Mini rear hub with titanium axle
Paul Components Disc FHUB
Goodyear folding tires
Tubolito latex tubes
Lekkie aluminum drive cover (with ano stripped)
Lekkie 170 cranks
Speedline Elite Brake lever
TRP Spyke brake caliper
Swiss Stop ebike pads
Hope lightweight rotor, 180mm
40/16 gear ratio.

Battery pack and electrical:
BBSHD
ASI BAC800 controller, bought from Alan at ERT
2x 7s2p Molicel P42A 21700 packs in series - This allows me to use paired balance chargers, thereby nixxing the extra weight and annoyance of a BMS. It amounts to a 52v 8.4ah pack that offers a continuous discharge of 45 amps. I typically don't lose any speed when climbing hills.

Mods:
Nearly every single bolt on the bike, including those on and inside the BBSHD, has been replaced with titanium.
Almost all the bearings in the BBSHD have been replaced with grade 5 ceramic hybrids. Yes, it makes a difference.
The PAS disc, wiring, and circuitry in the BBSHD have been removed.
The throttle wire is a lighter cable than stock, and is run internally through the bbshd via the bottom bracket.

Potential mods:
I'd like to replace the BBSHD engine case with aluminum. Does anyone have a cad model? If I can't get that done, I'd like to at least grind down the fins and top layer of the BBSHD engine case, and replace it with aluminum heat sinks. It would save weight and lower heat.
It irks me that I can't fit the BBSHD inside the triangle. So my next big investment is to make my own engine casing and system. At the moment I'm looking at the Astro 3220 and the Revolt RV-120. Suggestions welcome. Youtube video soon.

ENzo folding e-bike. 30km/h max speed.
VERY short seatpost. VERY bad paint. too heavy front wheel. too cheap crankset and very small chainwheel (46T)
battery is 3p10s - 8ah only.
AFTER:
Light front wheel
Repaint frame.
upgrade to 9 speed version shimano 11-32 cassette.
upgrade to light semi-carbon crankset and 58T front chainwheel.
upgrade slide battery to LARGE voltage 11p instead of 10p (!) that size allow place 33 LG 3300mah cells inside 10ah 11p.
so max speed has increased signaficant.
upgrade fork to suspension cool style. (by the way this fork was spring upgraded too to more large spring )
upgrade seatpost to large- so you can ride and not toach knee to chin each time. :p

Very nice bike!
I think you could better get a CYC X1-Pro (3kW) instead of modding the BBSHD:
https://www.cycmotor.com/x1-pro

Revolt seems to suck according to some buyers here on E-S.

Thank you! The CYC seems like it would be a bit too noisy for my tastes. And I don't like the planetary gear design. Can you provide links to the criticisms of Revolt motors? Thanks for the heads-up.

you can look through my build thread (norko) for some examples or just search it here on ES... they're ok, but very poor QC, and not very efficient. Claimed power numbers are pretty bogus.

It is Pacelite HCF electric scooter! before DD and dualtron era 15+ years old!
upgraded controller, remove Lead-acid battery to 18650 400Wh 67V , DD 12" electric wheel DD 350W (800W in peak).
max speed 38km/h. exact weight 19.90kg with battery! Dualtron - :( .
Frame is something super! can't make today. Ocean of aluminum and upper destk is aliminum. very strong frame and headset.
If you will see pacelite HCF anywhere- buy it! (or ask me how  )

I still consider the Tadpole to be my favorite platform

Fishing_0008-768x576.jpg

The only drawback is how wide they sit. . . something like the above can cut thru really tight spaces and get you anywhere

Ok - maybe not anywhere once you start pulling a load. . . but. . .

Fishing_0016.jpg

Everybody starts somewhere.
My first bike was a Cruiser on 24S 4.5Ah of no-label Hobby City packs
(it was Hobby City before Hobby King)

Kelly controller. . . thing literally was spinning axles out of the biggest hubs we could get at the time, where were xlyte.

.. Has come a LONG WAY
...

Was just over at Google and saw a ton of bikes (hundreds)
Mid drive
Hub drive
You name it

and

In Santa Cruz
We have surpassed the 50% mark
You WILL see more mid drive ebikes than standard bikes if you drive around town for 5 hours.

Sweet
We won
Now I can die in peace
