'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

I never heard of MT60 connectors, but here they are. They appeaar to be keyed. Wonder why that photo makes a note of the the polarity.

Doesn't look like it has the shell on the motor side connector, so it wouldn't still be keyed. You could plug in the other end to it in any rotation that lines up the contacts. (unless the contacts are not at 120 degree angles to each other, and are spaced apart differently on one side than another).

If that's the case, then unless that third pin is simply not used, it could make a great way to fry stuff by a very easy accidental misconnection. :(

I am also waiting for my motor, i have not ordered it with a custom shaft, i was thinking i should get a regular isis bottom bracket. Maybe that will be a better solution? I also have 73mm bottom bracket on my bike.

I am going to replace a cyc x1 stealth. Think its too noisy for normal riding.

I really hope this motor will be good.
I am looking forward too see the first tests of it.

How do you know this one is quiet?

Some pictures have only one chain through the whole thing, some have two. Did they get rid of the drive chain?

I just got reply from Bikee about how to assemble the BB. It is very helpful, with detailed drawings and advices how to put everything together.
I believe these instructions must be included with the kit, together with power connector.
Also keep in mind that you need bearing press to install the right bearing and some kind of small press to install the left spacer :)

I dont know for sure that it is quiet, after seeing the very few movies that is about it, it seems atleast a good bit more silent than the x1 stealth. So this is what i am most exited to find out about it.
It felt like i took a chance by ordering it last year.

The other question I have about all those connectors... does the motor come with a cover for that area? Are all those connectors going to always have plugs in them? If not, water, grass mud, etc will be getting in them. Connectors 4, 5, and 6 in the supplied chart seem to be optional so there needs to be a cover... or perhaps blank plugs for the unused connectors.

Grin connectors page has a good description of them, about 2/3 down the page:

I have received my kit on Friday, does everyone experience the same dragging of drive pinion when rotating forward (like pedalling with no motor engagement) ?:

below are remaining photos of the kit (with superhero pack) :

@szkuba Beautiful set of photos! They help answer some questions & clearly shows the connector cover some have been asking about.
Hopefully that pinion drag is not so noticable in actual use.

Humm.. Now I realize I forgot to think of the consequence of NO combined dual freewheel and chain/wheel -
if this drag is real, it warrants a comment from Bikee.

If this added resistance is noticeable, especially on long runs,
how can we make a conversion? (it is understood torque sensor functionality will be lost)

I assume the freewheel was moved into the motor or not?

** Edit: It is confirmed there is a freewheel in the motor - ok

Mine has a little drag, but not much. I can spin it with 2 fingers without problem.

I see you received the power connector with kit. Have you also bought their battery?

I gave up waiting for this lightest bike one
You'd always be waiting!
It's like those people who build computers, dissecting every minucia of a components spec, waiting for something better. In reality it doesnt really matter that much in the end at the top end of the curve. Another one is the bicycle weight weenies, shaving grams of bike components and spending big, Pros sure, most people arent pros. The lighest would cost bigger money and few would buy a real expensive setup because it has the most exotic recipes of light weight materials. Then you look at whos selling it, how much research and development did they do with their product. Thats why you pay the big bucks for a Trek ebike, good balance, tested every which angle, nothing spared, versus some garage warrior with marketing skills. Supply and demand, who are the manufacturers going after? The biggest slice of the ebiking market pie. Then you get the fringe, over in forum land at the edge, making break throughs. You see them around here. They machine off a bit of the magnet backing plate, they test different stuff.
They get active, go getters.

So the drag could be standard for this motor , but then is the drag stable or jerky like mine?. I have ordered motor only, no battery.

Wait! They are using a 3-prong connector for the battery, and it's not properly keyed? Meaning the end user must check the manual not to cause a short? WTF? Why not XT60?
It is keyed. Anyway I don't understand why they have used the MT60 for the battery, while it is typically used to connect 3 phase brushless motor to esc. Maybe the XT60 panel mount was bigger and harder to place on the pcb? Who knows!

I got my kit and having some trouble with the ISIS BB too (73mm BB here). Figured it out after 2 hours of tries but probably still have to reverse the shaft and reinsert the spacer to make it work. Chainline does not appear to be correct and especially the ISIS spline on the crankset is not good, seems way too tight. The overall quality of the crankset spline/threads, freewheel, isis spindle, etc... looks pretty poor to me. And let's not talk about the steel chainring! They call it lightest and have a steel chain ring?

@Cheburator I received the mt60 connector too, and I ordered the 1000W kit with no battey. They must have forgotten to put it in.
Victor replies are always very minimalistic.

Anyway here is my experience: the standard mount did not work with my bike (BMC trailfox) and had to order the new Medium mount that it's not even on their shop yet (and 86 euros! way too expensive). They had a pdf of the mounts but no quotes/dimensions on it: almost useless, and irritating. Isis spline on the cranks and isis spindle poor quality, spline too tight, probably stlightly off center too.
Manual is not up to the task: lacks fundamental instructions on the BB, wrong instructions from the very beginning with different mount plates pictured, postcard sized pictures, etc... 2 year to do it right and they botched it.

Motor seems very good and compact, I just would like to try it...

Thank you for sharing your experience!
How did you manage to install the spacer to the shaft? It is very small in diameter.

I forced it hammering nicely on the shaft while it was on the vice. If I put in on the wrong side of the shaft, as it seems, it will be fun to pull it out... I am writing Victor a report with all the stuff I noticed during the mounting process, I hope to have some definitive answer about the BB.

PS: I just noticed you have one of those Chinese aluminum chainring from Deckas. I have bought one from "Snail" that does not mount flush on the spider Bikee provided, because it's slightly smaller. Does yours fit perfectly?

PPS: Did you noticed fit problems with the crankset on the isis splined shaft? Do they go through all the spline and bottom out correctly? Mine are so hard to tight down and when I had to pull them out with the puller I almost risked stripping the threads. It has been 10 years that I have messed with isis stuff, but I don't remember it being so shitty...

No, mine was too small too. I sanded off excess material and was able to fit it to Bikee spider.

I did not tight down the crankset yet and unfortunately I do not have lot of experience with isis axles to judge if it is good. My 2 ebike kits was from Bafang, BBS02 and BBSHD, and they have square cranksets.
Maybe there are standarts for isis? Like torque to tight it and how much spline must be engaged? If Bikee products are not up to standarts we should be able to claim warranty replacement.

The one thing that strikes me so far having done TSDZ2, CYC X1 Pro Gen2, and CYC Photon, is that I could pop those on and be riding in a couple of hours, max, the first time. Now I could do one in no time. These LB installs are going on a few days.

How did they key it without using the housing/shell on the motor side of the connector? I have stared at all the pics showing that I can find in the thread and still don't see it, but I've missed things before.....
