How to connect these wires?

I am building an ebike for my daughter and im stuck.

I bought a kit that included motor, controller, throttle and key switch but no manual and managed to fry the controller so hoping to avoid it with the new controller.

Some of these are obvious but my main issue is with the solo red wire with label "electric door lock - must be connected"

Connected to what?

And when battery and hall sensors are connected i measure 0v in the motor hall plug from the controller, 0v in the throttle plug but 60v, not 6v, in the cable im holding in the 2nd to last picture, which is labeled anti theft alarm power.

Any ideas to get me going here?

Since you already fried one model, why not get one of those controller with waterproof higo/julet connectors ? Wayyyy cleaner and simpler than this cable mess.

I believe you connect that "electric door lock" to battery voltage, This turns on the controller.

I am just guessing, but your "anti theft alarm" wire appears to be a live wire to the battery. Connect it to "electric door lock", and the controller should power up. Then you will see 4.5V on the hall sensor power plugs,

You're making a 60V thunder-and-lightning ebike for the daughter? Are those speeds allowed in Sweden? Isn't that a manual in your pictures? Or did you buy a controller completely different from the one that came in the kit? Do you know how to use the intelligent recognition wires?

Yes i am, which wasnt really intentional, i just bought a kit on a whim knowing nothing about power, electricity or ebikes.
We have a few dirt bikes and atvs so i thought this would be ok but maybe it will be too much..

we have a huge backyard out in the woods so were all good on laws. Tjanks for the heads up though.

Also, the key switch doesnt match anywhere, i thought the "electric door lock" was going to that one somehow. Can i skip it?

Manual is for the new controller which doesnt really match up i think?? I couldnt find an identical controller that was included this one was the closest.

I do not know how to use those, no.

Because i know nothing of these things and i dont know how to and which connections can be changed.

If you could point me to a stupid proof guide on what to do and a link to which parts to buy i would much appriciate it. I live in sweden and i had a really hard time even finding a seller for controllers besides ali or amazon which is badically the same thing..

No they are not obvious, meaning you can’t just connect things, because wire colors mean nothing in Chinese controllers and there are no standards. You could connect the throttle to throttle connector, and still fry the controller, etc. Kits come matched, so there’s little chance of messing up, but you should try to replace it with the exact same model.
Once you start putting together non kit parts, there’s a lot more involved (i call that being a component diy builder rather than a kit builder/assembler in my faq:
“The DIY component builder chooses various components to support their end goal. The components may not be directly plug n play, but may require testing and troubleshooting, as well as physically modifying things like connectors in order for the components to be connected together. Patience and discipline are required in order to not damage components when they are connected or operated. The reward for the component builder is building an ebike that is specifically tailored to the needs of the particular DIYer, and while sometimes challenging, provides an ebike better matched to DIYer, and almost always worth the additional work.“

From my Chinglish to English definitions:

• Electric Key Lock/Key Switch/Electric Door Lock/Ignition/Power Lock : Controller on/off; usually applying battery level voltage to the signal wire turns on the controller (frequently a thin orange conductor).

Your question gets asked here about once a month, often more. Controllers are turned on by applying battery power to a specific input. Yes, they already have the battery wire going in, but that is only connected to the circuits that drive the motor windings. They always require a second battery level voltage to power the low voltage circuits. To make it simpler, they bring a wire with battery on it out.

In your manual, you see the picture where the wire is coming out that has that voltage (-->) and it simply goes back in (<--).

If you put up either a link or a good photo of your key switch, maybe you can connect that up to use the above two lines.

You will need to use the intelligent recognition wires later, if this manual applies to your kit.
