Just bought this ebike kit used FB Market place was told it was new upon inspection, controller taken apart, missing end plate, burning smell
ebikeling controller is very expensive $80 shipping, even then the bike might not work
The wheel looks like a normal 9 pin cable, thinking about connecting it to a generic controller
There does not look to be anything blown but the fact its been dismantled and sold doubt it will work.
the question is will it work with another controller, I got a wiring diagram from ebikeling website.

If you buy another controller, it probably will not work with the ebikeling display, so you have to buy a new display too. Your new controller also has to have the same size 9 pin connector as the ebikeling. Looks like a higher current connector there. I've never used one like that, so can't help.

I've bought three 500W geared motor ebikeling kits. The motors are pretty rugged, The controllers have crappy pedal response, if you care about that with a 1000W motor. Most folks like to use throttle with the big motor. Eventually, I replaced all my ebikeling controllers.

Thanks Docw you helped me out before. I thought no one would respond.

I was aware I would need another display just wanted to confirm wheel would work with different controller, I once bought a hub motor and the controller was built into the hub, BionX
I can cut the end off the cable and splice it to a generic controller, I am hoping the Hal wires are the same. this motor is 1500, not 1000 I guess I would need a large capacity controller, I want to make it throttle only, It's reassuring to know you have done it.
did you have to use a different cable on your conversions

My ebikeling controllers/motors used bullet connectors for phases and the common 2x3 Molex for halls. I spliced all the motors to the small 9 pin plug. The wire colors were in sync.

It might be better to bite the bullet and buy a controller from Ebikeling its $80 shipping to Canada controller $120 then its a simple fix
then I can use display, throttle, brakes. etc. a decent generic one would be $80 - 100 with display, then the wiring hassle, actually I was looking forwards to that, I like a challenge.
Another question are they still in business I sent an email few days ago no reply, most of them have gone out of business
