Hi,

BB02 750w 48v recently started acting up.
The display stays on as the motor starts and stops randomly as I ride. PAS and Throttle hasve this issue.
Seems to only happen under load I've tried disconnecting the brake sensors to see if it’s causing the cutting out.

Any ideas? Its like riding an ebull. Keeps trying to buck me off. Lol

Good to first suspect the brake sensor there. If that was the issue, then you’d experience cutting out also while the bike is unloaded.

While checking all the connection as mentioned above, I’d pay close attention to the phase wires. Under load, the phase wires will become hot. This heat may deform a connection causing an open and your motor cuts out. After disconnecting the phase wires, also check where the connector meets the wire. I like to gently pull the connector from the wire. If it comes right off, you’ve found your problem. I’d also check all the others to be sure they are secure.

Try checking all your connections, like unplug and re-plug and see if that helps. Sounds like a bad wire/connection problem.
Thanks for the ideas. I've just tried all that without much luck. I thought it might have been battery sag but it still seems to happen after swapping it.

Tricky thing about shooting the trouble is, not only can it be heat that causes the issue, but also vibration. If you are having trouble finding a fault in the wiring, then operate the bike unloaded and shake each wire. That could induce the trouble.
Do you mean shaking the exterior wires or interior? I might have to open up the motor and shake the internal phase wires while its running?
The motor cutting out only happens for a second before kicking back into action only to happen again moments later. It's very random and sometimes it would happen more on flats then not much at all up hillls.
I'll keep testing. I've just tried swapping out the battery and thank goodness its not that.
Could it be the controller?

How old is the battery is perhaps the voltage sagging under load and dipping below the controller minimum voltage level?

Take a close look at how your battery connectors look. The standard battery mounts I just use them to hold the battery on the bike I open up the battery and wire in an xt 60 connector instead of using the slide in connectors. They always failed on me.
