Hi guys,

I received a bike from a friend that has no manuals and I'm trying to figure out to configure the controller to get the most of out it. I can't find much on the intrawebs about the controller or motor and was hoping someone might be able to assist me in finding the manuals or assisting with the configuration. I have the model numbers and while the bike is nothing spectacular, I would like to learn how to configure it to help expand my limited ebike config knowledge. Currently it has a 60v1500w hub motor, I can take picture if needed but the only markings I found on the motor is EW09RX60V1500W 20" 2408 001. I do have a picture of the controller and the display (no model number). Controller Brushless DC motor controller, product #JH6AL7295DZMN and is made by Dongguan Jing Hui Controller Co; LTD. It does have a QR code on the top (as seen in the pic but the QR code doesn't do anything.

Any information you guys can provide is appreciated. Some of the controller config is obvious to me, but questions like pole pair, manual/automatic switching, current limiting adjustment, number of speed measuring magnets, number of PAS magnets, PAS orientation, Driving mode, Handlebar speed adjustment, Booster start strength, to name a few. I was shown a video that this bike with the controller, motor, and LCD devices can produce 47mph without load. I'm not getting that much so I'm wondering where I'm missing configuration that would limit that number.

Can you send a picture of the display?
The buttons look the same as on the lcd t8 display

Here's a pic of the bike and of the display. I deleted the part about the battery connector from my first post. I'm probably going to be putting a 3000w hub in this soon along with a fardriver controller but in case I don't go that route, Id like to try and squeeze as much as possible out of the bike as possible.

Google image search told me its called S2 lcd display, try searching a manual

Unless I'm missing something, that display looks nothing like the graphics in the picture I provided. I did try and search Google before I posted this thread and didn't come up with anything. I find that google will frequently show results based off of pictures that aren't remotely close to the actual product you're looking for and unrelated to the picture, so be careful when using that tool. At least that's been my experience, I'd say I get a good result about 1 out of 3, or 33.33333% of the time. Usually when I have to search using a picture, it's because what i'm searching for is obscure and google tends to prove me right with its results. Just my .02, YMMV.

No worries, Ak136. I did the same thing when I first started using it, so it's definitely not uncommon to do.

Back to the top, is anyone able to help me out with this?

Since most display control buttons are manufacturer specific, searching for other displays using the same button set appear to be consistent for accessing the parameters:

You could try the above to see if you can access the parameters menus, but don’t make changes yet. Many of the parameters use similar chinglish to describe the parameter, so if you can convey what you are seeing (pics), folks can help you figure out what the parameters represent. Since a lot of factory e-bikes use the same hardware, but programmed specifically for that ebike manufacturer, not all settings are available or accessible between different models. It’s a pretty low probability that you’ll be able to make any improvements, and could possible screw things up, so always copy down the current parameter before making a change. Avoid doing a full reset of the display.

The original display that came with the bike died (well it worked but the screen itself would not illuminate) so I had to replace it. Therein lies the problem, I have no idea if the configuration was saved on the controller, on the display or a combination of the two. How is this usually done? If the config is done through the display, is it stored on the display or saved to NVRAM on the controller? I guess I don't understand the full process of the configuration.

So when the screen decided to cross the rainbow bridge, I don't know what the configuration was on there before. But as I mentioned, I did see a video of the bike doing ~47mph not under load and I can't get even get it to 40mph now so something config wise has changed and I do believe there is room for improvement.

Have any suggestions? As I mentioned, there are 50% or so that I know what the config should be but when it comes to the magnet config, PAS magnets, and configs of that nature, I have no idea what the config should look like.
