I have a 48v 10ah battery or so I was told, but wanted a 48v 15ah battery, but the replacement battery that was shipped to me is smaller and by quite a bit. Is it possible for the larger capacity battery to be smaller? they are LifePo4 batteries I'm pretty sure. I think they are headway brand....
Thanks 8)

Look on the side of the cells, they will have the model number on them. Alternatively you could first leave them on the charger overnight so that they are balance....then discharge the pack fully by riding until it stops. With an AH/Volt meter (like the cheap ones from hobbyking) see how many AH's it takes to charge the bike up. You could time the charger and work out how many amps x hour's it takes to charge...but a lot of the end charge is not on full amps as the charging amps taper off/balancing.

A bigger Ah pack that is considerably smaller sounds like a different chemistry. But you never know.

Either discharge test it or put up photos or web links to the product - maybe someone here will have the same battery and already know.

You can tell a lot by the weight. A 15aH 48v Headway pack will weigh approx 9 kg, A 15aH 48v Ping battery with LiFePO4 pouch cells 7.5kg, and a 48v 15ah LMC with pouch cells 4 kg.

If you had round cells, and now have pouch cells, the pouch generally takes up less space.

If you don't have lifepo4 anymore, limn is very small.
