I hope everyone riding an electric step through is as genuinely as happy as I am... A couple of years ago I managed to sell my back up bike: my second build. I began my electric journey on a brand new e-ZIP Trailz that arrived 2 days before my Gasbike 4 stroke engine. I had planned on my Gary Fisher to become my sport bike but couldn't decide on the power train... I fell in love with electric bikes but kept a gas backup for those 5 minutes late to work in the rain days. That was in 2008. I just hit 4700 miles on my XPress 750 from Lectric. I have replaced pads once with absolutely no other issues. Even routine maintenance has been routine. JUst before I bought this step through, I decided I wanted to turn a Radio Flyer into a simple by design trailer to tow behind a 26" Kent full suspension racer (the one I accidentally sold). I needed range: I towed it. Checking Craigslist for wheels before I paid full price for Burl 16", I came across a "48 volt solar storage battery" the seller indicated that there were no panels, no controller and no charger for 120 bucks. We negotiated to a reasonable 80. When I showed up pulling my Radio Flyer explaining my intention to run 6 gauge wire from my Trailer to my bike he couldn't resist letting me have the battery for half price and a cup of coffee. That battery wagon still turns heads. I realize I am giving up confidentiality on this idea, its so cool that I just had to. One thing I would like to do do is mod my 750. I already have a Harley Sportster"s wind screen, front foot pegs, BMW style (plastic ammo cans) saddle bags and my tow hitch is mounted on the OEM rear rack. I set cruise at 20 miles an hour for my daily (2 x 5 x 52) commute. The day my warranty is up I'm planning to go rouge just because the wheels are begging me to.
