Hi Guys

I'm after a little help here please. I'm about to start a new Specialized Big Hit build (will be documented on here :D ) and I need to find a 24" 36 hole rear rim to send over to our friend Justin to lace onto the motor. I'm finding that google is absolutely useless when searching for products in other countries so I'm hoping for some recommendations for Canadian or US shops/suppliers of bike bits. Shipping the rim from the UK will at least double the cost of the rim and will take time as well. So I'm after a DH type rim of decent width and quality like the DMR Backline or Sun MTX39.
Any help is massively appreciated.
Cheers
Chris

I had many times that problem.

I finally found the Doubletrack 24 with 36 holes, but it is now really rare to find.. it almost disspeard on earth..

But i found a great replacement yesterday. This is the Intense Mag 30 !! same thing as the doubletrack from Sun rim but it is welded!

The DMR is a good replacement but seem less strong and lighter... I bought one and still have it in my garage... i think i will not install it unless i dont have any other better resources...

The Intense Mag 30 look really strong!

Caveat: Avoid the competition rim with the holes cut out. I found that even with the rim tape that comes with the rim, it is not thick enough to stop rim flats. Otherwise, a really tough light rim for phatty tires.

I deployed the rim with 24"x2.5" Hookworms, and have one for my rear wheel drive and on the trailer.

Good hunting, KF

These guys have at least 3 24" rims. I don't know much about them but 2 are Kris Holmes

i bought some Alex DX32's from bikewagon in the states.
If you're after wide, then bike rims don't come much wider at about 1 1/2"
I've punished one laced with a HT in it a fair bit over jumps and cross-up landings and it's stayed true.
Only downside would be with a knobby tyre I find I lose side traction sooner cos it doesn't wrap the tyre as much as a narrower rim.

Cove Bike shop in North Van BC had a nice 24" rim for me and a good price as well. They also cut spokes and stock thicker guages as well for good prices. They are pretty close to Grin Tech if you are sending the wheel there for build maybe they could courier it to Grin for you. http://covebike.com/
