7speed Freewheel problem HS3540 (noob question)

Hello all,
This is my first post on ES,first I'd like to thank every member of this forum for the great source of information they provide !
I've been reading this forum for a long time and finally decided to build an e-bike, so now the problems start

I ordered a HS3540 rearwheel motor to mount on my B'twin7 bike. I removed the freewheel (Shimano 7speed) from the original bike's rim and put it on the crystalyte motor. The problem is that the freewheel is not free anymore, I mean it cannot spin independently from the motor.
I may have missed something, maybe a spacer or anything else is necessary ?

Any idea ?

Sounds like you need a spacer.
