9.5" big wheel electric scooter from China

I just met a guy on the street riding on one of these.

I talked to him quickly and he seemed to be very pleased with it. After some digging, I finally found it online: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Big-wheel-9-5inch-tires-scooter_60403449674.html

There are either different versions or just total confusion, because the max speed and battery capacity varies depending on the sources. But I like the overall design. It's much more maneuverable than a bike in crowded places, and it doesn't look as dorky as many of the other small scooters.

Do you guys have any experience of this scooter?

I can’t remember the name - back in 2005? There was a company making standup scooter with similar tires. Ridiculously expensive, odd name? This is gonna bug me the rest of night! Somebody please remember that damn thing? I think it was offered out of the NW USA?

Cool idea for sidewalk, slow traffic pavement use, I could see it. Thanks for sharing!
