a DC-DC to charge li-ion... GREAT!!

here's a 2000W 48V nominal power supply.... outputs almost 38A

takes in 100-250VAC...

Just thought it might be "big" enough for some of you ...

100 bucks isn't terrible... 10 hours left.

man what nice find my internet connection was down earlier ...

or i would have had a stabb at it thanks damn that was a good one brand new i hope is some here

at least that way i would only feel maybe half as bad;0

efreaky, don't feel bad baby, 'coz if you're connection hadn't been down then we'd have ended up bidding against each other and we'd both have lost out . I got the nice PSU (for 100 bux) and am here to tell you that the seller has told me he's got more! :D Woo Hoo!!! 8) It's a pity I can't afford 'em.... but hey you can't have it all....not yet anyways, but I'm sure it's workable. Just gotta stop the environmentalists from manufacturing scarcity in this age of abundance.

EDIT: Apologies for going off topic a bit at the end there. Please don't respond here. General Discussion area for that, thx.

Frodus: Many thanks for finding this PSU and posting the link, it'll replace four 500W 48V Chinese PSUs which together are more than twice as big and heavy, so it's gonna be much better for an onboard charger. Looks better quality too. :)

efreak: If you can't get the same deal ($100+shipping) directly through the ebay seller then PM me your details and I'll get him to send you one too. You can paypal me.

I check daily on stuff... Don't worry, I've already got mine, so I'll share what I find freely...

I'm developing a system for SLA first.... then going to LIPO. We'll test it on some 60Ah LiFePo cells we got for development.

here's another:

Frodus, have you succeded to start it up?
cause i already bougt one from pioneer magnetics (adj 48V 27A) that have many data pins with the output panel. and the fan power on but no output.. (the model PM3327A) made in USA

It have some Logic inhibit and other AC fail pins but i still was'nt able to get juice from it.. it does not smells blown component and the 2 PCB seems great. (one for the PFC and the next for the step down...

thanks for sharing info about great deal

Hi Frodus, when you say you've got yours, has it arrived? I ask because I'm wondering what the output is like. Does it need to be connected to other circuits to activate it? Or is it a simple case of tapping into +/- 48VDC?

There's no relevant info in this data sheet.View attachment Flatpack2 482000.pdf

No, I didn't get "that" one.... I got a nice Vicor 48V supply. Read earlier in the thread :)

I just keep an eye out for you guys....

I got 14 50W 15V output modules, I hooked one to test and set the trim high, and let it charge a battery. We're working on a board to control it, so they don't have to stay on all the time if the battery is charged. They'll be "smart". Board layout is done, we're waiting on some other projects (the DC controller is done, I just need to wire up my bike.)

Question for yoy Doc:

I managed to look at a amphenol din 97 with 11 conectorsbut the specify for 16 gauge wire your were
16 ? cause i have ordered 14 gauge noodle silicon wire and that 11 conector din looks to be tight for the battery to charger wire?

thanks

I don't know if they allow Canadian bidders:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Eltek-Flatpack2-2000W-48V-NEW-4C_W0QQitemZ230262788143QQihZ013QQcategoryZ20315QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Doc, I will help bid for you if there is any international issue.

I would also like to purchase, so if Doc passes, anybody else in line?

You could try contacting the ebay seller directly: sales@acqltd.com

Still waiting on mine, but it says it's this side o'the pond. :D

Thankd for the offer Tyler,

That's appreciated!

I just dont had any reply on the 2 message i sent to the seller about if it's possible to get 48V out of it without any other auxiliary circuit for activate it.. like many modular industrial computer network power supply have...

I still have one similar from Pioneer Magnetics of 48V 27A.. but i had no succes to start it... my electronic skill level reached it limit on it....

how would one say use that suposed 38 amp down to what i need at 25 amp? ( i am sure that is possible)

sorry for the interuption

for the charger set specifically the circuit between the dc dc converters and the connector for the batteries?
What is the best solution? as far as staticts and useability etc.
what does every one suggest??

it ll be hopefully a 48 volt 38 amp !! power supply or say 3powers upplies supplying -10 amps each for 10 dcdc 3.3 volt 20 map tyco modules that

as far as can understand so far it needs to be each needing a resistor 90k? and and potentiometer for the other 20 k adjustable say i needed 100k so you can go 90-110k resistance all together so this could all tidy and secure what is your suggestion one those plastic white hobby boards with the holes!?

btw i was looking at those amphenol 97 army style connector Very good call

at the last minute noticed that the 11 pin connector the one they had i think 24-20 was rated for wires 16 gauge 13 amps
but if had the wires with me could at least check for the fit .

but excellent i am in search of maybe one that is rated for 14 gauge wire but i ll see.

I contacted the seller and asked him to send me some pics of the rear panel.

Here they are:

I have difficulty to see details, but it seems that it have 4 large blade connector and 3 smaller on the center.. maybe ddigital data... ?

I also seen the description posted above about the use of stand alone mode.. but is it poossible without any other modular enclosure main unit?.. i mean like just soldering wires to the AC input blade and then getting DC output just like that?
