Got mine thanks.. can't wait

Yes, now we wait a bit... :|

I have done videos my self, first time and in a hurry to post here so errors came along as one would expect :).
I think your video manual was very good Agniusm. 8) The sparks are very good to show, because it is a fair "warning" of what might happen if you don't take precautions. No KFC though.

I just hope you did not forget my order for 2 x 16s kit? I asked for them in de first requests!

I can send the money right now

Doc

At least he forgot mine 1 x 24s kit.

I didn't forget Doctorbass, and you were the person i thought would be good to sell a kit or two for reliable feedback but i thought with victpower selling modules and thread going quiet nobody was interested anymore so people who came first and ordered got all the big kits and i have left with 1 x 12S, 10 x 6S and 2 x 4S. I have to apologize to all who was still interested in the background, and i can not fix this inconvenience quickly to keep everyone happy. My sincere apologies to all.

P.S. I have some blocks left to get maybe one 16S knocked up quick, but not much more.
I have manufacturers now and things will go quicker. I will ask here if people will be willing to put in 20% in advance because a lot changed their mind on configuration or not getting it at all, so it would be my safety and everyone genuinely interested would get their kits. Its hard for one man with one mans finance to get stuff moving.

OK, i understand. Do you think it would be possible to get that 16s and 1 12s and one 4s to make my 2 x 16s ^

because in reality i need a 16s2p... that<s why i ask for 2 x 16s.. but if it will take too long for the next batch i would take 1 x 16s + 1 x 12s + 1 x 4s.

It<s to make my Zero motorcycle boost pack!.. and i need 40Ah and 16s

KFC is a big painful  joke on ES, because it stands for Kentucky Fried Finger. Search on ES for KFC** <== use ** too. Also, search Kentucky, and you will find the pics of KFC I am referring to.

That's great you eat well too. No KFC either way.

Have got old russian switch free, good for 400amp, will be using 2 of the 3, good for 260amps.
IMAG0111.jpg

Will clean it up and make a new base. Should do for my test rig.

Thats the ac rating 3ph by the look of it and there are several ratings depending on use,
but still be well rated for a crazy load of dc :D
Good thing about an open switch, like that, burn it switching, if its not to pitted, can just clean contacts up,
Would expect large initial inrush on the lamps, but thats good would expect similar on a motor.
Might be able to make better use of the switch connections as they look well overated, common negatives together,
main pos commoned on incoming 3 connections and place a sleeve over the poles not used during the testing, then you have 3 tests possible.
Oh were the volt drops on your load tests what you would expect. Your DVM was showing healthy volts on the cells, would be good to see that test with a cell log hanging of the connector looking for volt drops at cell level, yeh the temp sensor or infra red would be great if you have one.

yea, it is 3ph switch, i thougth test rig frankenstein style :) i do not have cell log but can i use icharger to monitor cells? i just ordered balance wires for it. i will be able to monitor temps with sensor on my meter.

Not familiar with icharger, celllog's are not bad once calibrated.
Those blocks look good do they getting warm on high load, good for heat sinking tabs?
I suppose cell compression is dependent on individual's finished pack design?

Started working on my mega switch. Rated for 400A AC, i think should do same on DC. Got it all apart, started cleaning. Few minor upgrades to clamps. Should be ready in couple of days.
Checked iCharger206B manual, i can use it to monitor individual cell voltages and battery temp with included sensor. I will use my meter to see what temps. are at the blocks. So its all good

Knocked up the switch, now need some time to do my third video and test the kit. Here is that bad boy:

The wire i had is 4AWG so its good for 60amps. Will have to look for better option somewhere free. Let me know what ya think

Yep! Mines in the US also!
otherDoc

How do you fit that switch on the bike?

ohzee, docnjoj glad to hear that kits went that quick. from china i wait for stuff at least 20 days to arrive. I was thinking using 3 parallel wires just didnt had time to make them yet.

Forgot to mention, if you will need some sort of invoice for customs with lower value let me know. I had to declare full value otherwise post office would not insure them for different amount.

If 4AWG is only good for 60 amps then there would be more melted wires around here, nah?

No, i have made my rig so i can have 6 increments in power draw. Values few posts back
Oops. Understood now :). That's an insanely cool knife switch there.

Use to metric but would think for a short length 4 awg, would be up over 100A no probs.
Ok electrician short course 101.
Ratings has a good deal to do with the insulation, are mainly to do with not burning down buildings, high current in under sized long cables also causing volt drops in installations affecting installation.
For short lengths of cable ratings are higher.
If insulation does start to bubble which doubt it would even think about even for audio wire, just strip off the insulation altogether, untwist the strands and it'll be good for 300A then.
You'd probably be concerning yourself better with loose fitting connections heating up and dropping volts.
That switch looks sex chocolate now you've cleaned it nice Frankenstien would be pleased Muuuuuhhhhaaaa.
I make my own 100A switching setups out of copper flat bar, nothing better.

Yes, those cables are good for 130a in chassis installation, at least on tech. sheet. I think i would go up to ~150amp max, don't want to rape my cells to much. Now i need to get those balance wires from hobbyking to charge the pack and off i go for another weird video :D. I need to make one on my scooter too.

Wicked

Good luck with the HK, asked for 6 medics and a load of big polymax 6 weeks ago, ended up with a crap lot of miscellaneous heli blades and parts instead, then its sorry want to buy this crap anyhow at a reduced price
Set me back a month now on a build the HKclowns.

I asked this question in the buy thread but it may be the wrong place so I will put it here.
Agniusm do you use seperator paper like fish paper or thin plastic between each cell or do you leave them touching like in the video? Thanks
