Another Fardriver Tuning question

I have a Fardriver ND961800 controller, it was tuned exactly how I wanted and was working perfect, then I had an external metal part come loose and short out my phase wires and cook the controller. The metal part has been removed and I purchased another identical ND961800. Prior to removing the old controller (it sill powers on but has a low mosfet error) I took a screenshot of all the settings. I installed the new controller using the existing wiring and I went through all the parameters one by one updating them to my old controller settings and I cannot for the life of me get my max RPM back that I had with my old controller. Does anyone know if its possible to save the config from my old controller and write it to the new one? Or know how to get this thing back up to the higher RPM I was getting before? I was able to get 11k RPM before now I can only get ~7k, and the power tapers off a little after 5k and has much less power from 5-7k rpm. It's pretty frustrating I cant get this one to match what I had before. Old controller is just under 2 yrs old. New one I just received a few weeks ago. Thanks.

Sounds like you have not set the "weak response" Parameter to the same value as it was before.

My ND72680 survived the melted and shorted phase wires.
But it wasnot shorted under heavy load.

Those settings are the same. I checked them. I've tried messing with a bunch of different settings and this thing just won't go over 7k rpm. Pretty disappointed to pay $800 and it be so much different than my old one.

Have you double an tripple checked all the settings?
My ND721800 lost a lot of times the settings in the ratios of speed table, or got back to standard values, while saving parameters.
I have an old version of the 721800 and this one is not working with the new BLE module, so I have to set it with an old phone and an old version of the app. I also can´t write values with the PC software, but I can read all the paramters with the PC software.

I have checked over and over, I will take a screenshot tonight and post it as well as a screenshot of my old controller settings. The app I am using crashes about every 3 or 4 parameters I change so who knows if its even saving the changes I make at all. The settings do show up in the app as what I saved last when I re open it, so it would seem that its saving properly. I am also going to swap out the BT adapter with the one that came with the new controller. I really wish the manual was more complete and easier to translate and that the app was better. My next controller will be a VESC, these fardrivers suck to tune.

Do you use the newest 2.51 Android Version?

I am using 2.4.9. I will get the newer app downloaded as well. I attached screenshots of the parameters, in the pics the model type that ends in ABH58 is the old one, the new one ends in ABH862.

I see no real difference.
Maybe try weak response 0 , as this should be the strongest weakening field setting and should make the motor spin faster. If not , try the other way 3 or 5 or even 7 which is listef as None.
What Motor do you use? You have entered 30 000w for the motor rating. This does not change anything, it is only used for the calculated motor temperature, but you have installed a temp sensor.

The two controller also show you have saved the configuration over 30 000 times. There must be something wrong.

I have definitely not saved it that many times, maybe 30 or 40 times on the new one and maybe twice that on the old. I will get the new app and see if that helps any.
I am running a QS138-90h liquid cooled motor. I have been running it in the 10k rpm range for a while now, and have not had any issues with it. It's in a modified golf cart that used to be able to, tow a full size automobile, lift the front wheels, cruise at 40 with no issue, peak out at 57, and now I only get 34. It will still lift the wheels but tapers off quick at about 22mph, then takes forever to get to 34. I have watched the gauge page and it only has power in the MTPA mode, as soon as it enters field wreaking it runs out of power. For the Battery it's running 32 CALB 230AH LFP cells. They are good for 2C for 5 mins 1C continuous. It backs up my house during a power outage. I run them in series for the cart and have a large gauge short cord to an inverter then I switch the pack to 16s2p.

I would at first try to change the " weak response" paramter to 0 which should be the highest setting. Setting 7 was no FW.
Have you done a new auto learn process with the new controller, and was this done exactly like with the old controller?
Phase shift is the same , so it should be done.
Was it done only with the motor istself or were there any chains or gears connected to the motor?
Probably slight loads on the motor during auto learn coud also make a difference.

I did preform the autolearn using the same process that I did with the 1st controller. rear wheels on jack stands then did the auto process. The motor was custom adapted to the golf cart differential so it does have a gear train to power through, but it didn't seem to have any negative effect on the original. I ran the auto learn twice and the RPM was only slightly different from the original. I ran it the way it learned then I changed the RPM to match the original controller thinking maybe that may make a difference but nope. I am now in contact with fardriver as well and will be sending them the settings screenshots today.

I got a response back from fardriver and they said to set the LD param under ratios in speed to 900 and that worked. It doesn't have quite as much pull in the upper rpm as the old one, but this one feels smoother and at least I have the speed back. They must have made some updates to the firmware on these newer ones. It's good to go now.

Good to kmow
