How do I attach a mp3 audio file?

I don't think you can. You can upload a video to Youtube and link to that. Honestly, even if you could, I wouldn't click on it because it could contain malware.
What do you need the audio file for?
I just put my music files up on soundclick and bandcamp and soundcloud and link to them. AFAICT from stuff other people post on those sites, they dont' really care what you put up there.
I've also encoded the audio into a video with a still image and put it on YT, but that is a PITA and I think I only bothered twice. (YT should have the ability to build a video file from separate files but they actually have no editor, which is ridiculous).
