Is there a wind screen that you wear over the wind "cone"? Is it part of the helmet or separate?
Interesting piece of riding gear which I've never seen before.

The "technology" is pre-WW2. But it works well. There is no screen in front of the cone/rim and that is the beauty of it. It is a separate thing and not attached.

What happens is that you get a cushion of still air in front of your face so no wind chill and at the same time no fogging since it is open. Only drawback is your looks and that it does not stop snow from entering your eyes. But for really cold weather without snowfall it is the best.

Amazing it's open in the front and there's still air and no wind chill ! Was this device popular in Sweden only? The only thing I found so far on the web is this in Swedish.

Yes. There are other synonyms in swedish for vindstrut, also mopedstrut and gubbstrut. I found this at Tradera, a Swedish equivalent to Ebay.

It is very similar to mine. The one I have was built by a friend of mine. Funny thing is, he is American (living in Sweden). The one you have found seems to be German but belonging to a museum collection in Sweden.
