Can anyone give me an approx. top speed for a 48v / 750w Bafang (throttle only) with 52t chain ring & 11t cassette? I understand one of the great benefits of the Bafang / mid drives is the ability to utilize the bikes gears for hill climbing. But are there many users here who use it primarily for its "pedelec" feature?

Sure if you can specify size of bike, your weight, weight of bike.

Some use for pedalec, sure... I don't ever use pedalec and as a BB drive its impossible to add a torque sensor which is the only type of pedalec I'd even consider, but that's me.

Specify the info above and I'll figure your expected speed out but... that gearing on perhaps a 26" no matter how much you weigh will never wind out and so will never achieve efficient operation or reach top theoretical speed.

The efficiency of a BB drive is when maximum speed in each gear is achieved when the motor is at maximum RPM - that equals coolest power and proper configuration.

On a 20" bike and under 220 lbs, the setup you have may be a perfect match for the ability of the BBS02 and your gearing but on a larger wheeled bike it will be over geared and inefficient.

Hope this helps!
