I was hoping to solicit some advice from an experienced user.
I’m running a bbs02, about 8 months old with 2300 miles. I installed it without a throttle and the yellow throttle lead is unconnected (open to the air). I’ve run into a problem recently and was wondering if anyone recognizes the problem.
Several times (seems to be on rainy days), my bike seems to act as if the throttle is on when I’m at a stop with the brakes off. Remember, my bike doesn’t have a throttle. If I’m at a stop and release the brakes, the bike will try to take off. I’ve also received “error 4” several times (Throttle not returning to zero state). It’s gotten a bit dangerous a couple times.
I’ve also noticed when this happens that if I shut off the display (hold the on/off button for a couple seconds) I can’t get the display to turn back on until I turn off the battery as well and then turn it back on.
At first, I thought the issue was with the throttle lead having some mud in it (remember, it’s open and not connected to anything). I tried washing it out but this doesn’t seem to be making a difference so far.
Does this sound like a bad controller or a short in the throttle lead ?
Anyone have any advice on a fix ?
