So... why not putting brakes to 0% ? I think this is really something that I am thinking how. I'm quite sure this will end like this :)

If you have an ESC that will allow you to go 0% brakes go for it! I hardly ever use my brakes. However, If you're going to be traveling at car speeds it would be a much better idea to have brakes handy. "Never stack the deck against yourself" 8)

You could possibly go with something like a heli ESC if you weren't interested in brakes. They seem to have a slower start speed though by default but that can be changed.

do not go with the heli and or the plane esc. i have one plane esc turnigy super brain 100 and a castle ice 2hv 120. its more hassle than its worth the ice hv is adjustable to make work but. i have a track star 100 and i love the crap out of it. i use the super brain right now just cause it works and i have it installed. the better esc you have the more options you have. in my opinion i would go with castle creation esc because if your esc breaks down and is not warrantied your can get it fixed for 1/4 the cost instead of buying a new one

From my understanding do what you feel is comfortable for you. When mine was working, as I am new to this as well I have a set up of 2 6c zippy batteries, 2 hobbywing 150 amp ESC's and 2 SK3 190 KV motors. My sprocket ratio is 55:11 which all together is getting me about 25-35 mph, I have been looking to go faster though, but that wont be until I can design some new motor mounts that can handle the stress. Best of luck!
