And yet another lesson learned.... solder just plain don't stick to sub C nicad cells straight out of a harvested pack. Damn. Maybe a little sanding will help.
Yes.. light sanding and wash the surface with a moistened with rubbing alcohol cloth before you try to solder.. must be clean (finger print free ) and rough surface.. also need a very hot iron ie: 45w + :wink:
I think he did not orient the cells right as he has set one of them in the pack the wrong way. But since it is just hot glue, he can pop it loose and turn it over.
Even better... I could just slide it right out of it's cardboard sleeve with a little push so I could orient it correctly. These are just little 1.2v sub C nicads (stamped as made in japan) harvested from some service center Milwaukee 18v packs. This is my first pack build attempt so I'm trying a simple 30s1p 36v 2.4ah test pack for things like "does my motor work" etc.
