Day two of the new ebike madness and a buddy of mine that races and is crazy into biking exclaims, "Sweet jebus man! You need a much bigger frame than that! You're going to kill yourself!" What the hell do I know... but then I see a photo my friend took and sure enough I look like Andre the Giant on my little Diamond Back donor bike. It's got 26" wheels... sheesh... who knew there were different frame sizes?!

So... I'm 6'4" and about 200lbs. I've searched and read here about the S40s and Micargi and Ranger and all these *cheap* bike options which look great, but nowhere am I seeing anything about frame size etc. I guess I'm looking for a "21 inch" frame? Cheap is best obviously. Front suspension and front disc I'm thinking are a must at this point. I have a rear 4011 with 7speed on it. Thanks in advance said the "big kid"! :D

I have a Schwinn S-30 similar to S-40 and im 6'1 and 280lbs. Full suspension rocks.

More then you want to know about frame sizes here:

Go to local bike shop and they will explain frame sizes. Or measure from your balls to the floor and go to online bike shops. WalMart bikes only good if you are right size for the bike?

Fit is important, but with all the wierd frames these days knowing your sise is not easy anymore. Guys at the bike shop will be able to help. But getting a bike your size will not be at wallmart.

Well fate kindly stepped in my way tonight and as it turns out my neighbor, friend and lead guitarist in the band I've been in for the last 4 years has an "old spare" Jamis Durango SX from 1997 that happens to have a rock shox front suspension, 21" frame and a steel rear fork/dropout. Done deal, cheap and a deep, angry red frame and good rubber to boot. I've always loved redheads. Score! He says Jamis are really good bikes... I shrug and say it fits like a glove so we're good to go. So now I can spend the weekend tricking her out, wiring my Milwaukee connector block assemblies ala Jondoh and have it ready for the 6 v28s due in on Monday. Tuesday... show time baby!

Proof that one man's junk is another man's treasure.

Calling a Jamis Junk is like calling Jessica Biel Ugly.

Well clearly that's unacceptable. Apologies!

Here's a photo of my ebike version 2.0. Version 1.0 lasted all of three days. Ha! Wait... what?!? Is that a garden gnome eyeing my 4011?! Get back in the garden ya little varmint! Damn... and here I thought it was shaping up to be a stealthy build.

I dunno, i guess we'll have to ask the resident expert. Is the battery the box on the handlebars? I've never seen one mounted like that before.

now thats a good looking bike. how far you getting off 2 dewalts?

Oh... it's even better than you might be thinking. Those are 2 18v Ryobi nicad drill packs. Ha! I borrowed a neighbor's last night for 3 packs @ about 54v/2.4ah. 18mph on the rear 4011. Poor little nicads. Heheh! Enough range to get me to town and back for beers anyway!

Speaking of beers I've got a V28 Milwaukee 6-pack arriving Monday. :D

Town must be a lot closer for you than for me. Very nice bike too!
