Isn't that funny, John seemed to know exactly what pigs do. Killing and stealing...

Just a person not by his words, but by his actions.

Law enforcement took more stuff from people than burglars did last year

imrs.php

That's not even including local law enforcement asset and cash seizures (And fines and whatnot). And I have a REALLY STRONG feeling that went up too!

I think they're calling police thieves here...

Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah
Here come, here come, here come
The station is bombed
Get out get out get out you people
If you don't wanna get blown up

Oh, yeah, maybe that's what the guy was planning on doing with the acme bombs. He was planning on blowing up the station, lol.

Obviously you'd need access to military equipment to do a proper job.

-----------

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, police started following me into the neighborhood. Went down a wrong street to lose or mislead them, depending on their intent.

Not the first time police started following me, just that this time they didn't stop me for some balderdash reason.

Suspect maybe they were the people that saw me drink wine once in the vehicle and waited for me to leave the parking lot. I didn't.

It is great to have some responsibility and it may lengthen my life to keep busy. I know many that sat down after retirement and died.

Seems to happen in the 30s too! lol..

I would laugh if I wasn't amused by the ... helplessness of the current situation.

Shooting mexicans on the street and generator emissions on the property. And the rash on my inner legs and balls making walking painful, comes around during the summer.

Hoping to get that turned around in the new house, lots of room on the property and no threatening shooting yet as far as I've heard. And no emissions on the property. And hopefully some air-conditioning, keep the rashing down.

I have a feeling it might be more the combination of lack of physical activity and social isolation. Something that work /possibly/ provides.

Millennial who paid off $68,600 in 3 years used this book

Let's see if I can get at least that much in 2 years...

And if my polyannish plans come to fruition, 1 year!

http://www.newhealthguide.org/How-To-Get-Phlegm-Out-Of-Your-Throat.html

Hmmm...

they're recommending lemon, honey, garlic and ginger to clear out phlegm in the throat...

So you're telling me this is a bacterial problem...

And my eating lots of bananas has not been helping, clearly. Seems to kick up the phlegm when consumed in excess.

Oh, well then, I can see more clearly the link between my diet and these detectable heart issues. It's bacteria and I've assumed the innocence of bananas far too long.

Well, then, I'll start kicking up the antibacterial campaign.

Anyway, reviewing the last emotion that I saw from the construction girl, I think she actually felt hurt from her inference of my cheating on her and she was giving me the silent treatment.

Which is completely stupid. Because, I'm not her boyfriend number 1, and number 2, I never did anything that could be considered cheating IF I was in a relationship with someone. Seriously.

Yeah, I told you, I wrote that girl off from the very beginning because she was simple minded number one, and not that she hasn't given me enough reason to suspect this already, but she's stupid.

Haven't seen her lately, but haven't really been going back that much. No real obvious reason why I'd be going back going forward, other than replacing screws.

https://tolovehonorandvacuum.com/2017/07/top-10-reasons-sex-gets-boring/

3. It was never that exciting to begin with.
Maybe the reason it’s boring now is because it was never much fun to begin with!

And, uh, this is the importance of chemistry/spark. If you don't have a spark in relationship... why???

With chemistry, it's plenty exciting.

So, suspecting I really need to up my staches, reduce the sugar intake from fruit. This is pretty much what the entire world does, including those tropical cultures who rely on plantains and sweet potatos for starches.

Think the correlation with the implicated heart issues and this premature tooth recession are intrinsically linked. Too much fruit sugar.

Just that all the starches basically all require baking or boiling. And, that's hard to pull off when I don't have the electricity available for cooking.

Fruit is so convenient in comparison.

Looks like several police in this particular jurisdiction have been shot during ordinary traffic stops over the last 2-3 years. No surprise! I can imagine the locals are PLAIN FEDUP with the police tyranny and the more armed and angered among them just WON'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Jeez, I'm starting to think I should be looking into a town's police shootings to figure out how tyrannical they are instead of waiting to get stopped 2 separate times in one year for venial bullshit reasons.

No wonder why the last cop was acting so edgy about the presence of any weapons (And so was the one before him, actually). These tyrannical fudgers get shot on a regular basis.

This is notable, because this particular jurisdiction is not exactly "large". It's a pretty small town compared to Houston, so police getting critically and lethally shot as frequently as they are tells you something about the area.

Ok, assembled and installed the last of the ladders, now time to sheath the roof. Still some final details to finish on the ladders, but figure I'll complete that when I receive the telescopic 10 foot ladder. And, for now, won't stand on the ladders. (Not really sure why i would ever want to honestly, being that close to the edge...)

Got a persisting dull headache today, kind of bothersome.

Suspect maybe it's police imposed stress. Pretty much never have this kind of headache, until today.

Never even got this kind of headache in the military, regardless of how overbearing they were.

This kind of treatment feels extremely abusive. I know it's pocket change in the longterm, but just hard to swallow them plausibly STEALING my entire month's discretionary income for the month of july (hypothetically, it was a slow month last year) on account of a series of unfortunate events and them simply being tyrannical bastards and considering the timing and necessity of my impending expenses in light of finite savings. (The first flight was on a day which wouldn't work so had to reschedule, and a cop stopped in the meantime just 4 days before the next flight for a broken mirror that broke 3 days ago and that was my first trip in town since it broke and was on my way to repair it.)

So rafter length is 142".

Which is 11' and 10"

And the length of the ridge of the roof is... 20 feet (240 inches) + 7 inches + 11 inch + 11 inch = 269 inches = 22 feet and 5 inches.

So looks like we need about... (Need to lay the sheets horizontal, building code)

3 sheets across, 3 sheets up...

9 sheets per side, so 18 in total.

Looks like I need to buy 12 additional sheets, since I already have 6.

And then for the gable...

20 feet wide and 4 feet up.

20*4*(1/2) = 40 sq.ft. per gable

So, 80sq.ft. in total for both gables.

Since each sheet is 32 sq.ft., hypothetically 3 sheets in total.

So, looks like I need 15 additional sheets.

Which at... $19 now (Wow, this was $11 at jan 15)... is $285. And, looks like hypothetically I'm paying a total "building season" penalty of $120. I really want a roof, so I'm not going wait til jan 15 to complete it... lol....

And looks like I need underlayment and then shingles ontop of that. So, no vapor barrier?

https://fowlerhomesrestoration.com/blog/roofing-questions-synthetic-underlayment-vs-felt/

Ok, looks like I have a choice between #15 felt or sythetic underlayment for under the roof tiles.

Neighbor recommended #30 felt, and between that and synthetic, looks like synthetic is likely the most competitive in terms of price and functional benefits. Might want to look for Interwrap offerings.

so 12'x22' = 264 sq.ft. times 2, is 528 sq. ft.

And widened the hole getting it ready for receipt of the meter pole and now need to figure out how to get this thing up.

This idea of using pulleys sounds great in theory, but implementation is another question.

Would need to go buy the equipment too.

Saw the kind of equipment a two person team could use for this, didn't look infeasible. Figure I could pretty easily emulate that idea from lumber I have laying around.

But, I'd have to find someone to join my 2 person team, lol. Not really a question of willingness, more a question of WHERE ARE THEY? lol.

One difference in attitude between this neighborhood and the new neighborhood is that... they like to help.

The people here... well... I mean, they like to help too... but, it's got to be convenient for them.

Bananas tend to leave a sour taste in my mouth while pears don't.

Not really sure the implication.

I think of sour indicating bacteria or something, since the sourness develops after eating the banana.

A starchy taco with the garlic green sauce also doesn't leave a sour taste in my mouth.

And let's get a better idea of how much the roof will cost.

Looks like 80 cents per sq.ft.

500 sq.ft. = $400, sheathing is $280, underlayment is $50. So, about $730 in total.

Then we got siding.

640 sq.ft. * 80 cents/sq.ft. = $500. Skip the back side, $375. Should add on, say $50 for the gables.

So, about $1100-1200 going out from here to complete the exterior.

Then the bathroom is to be completed, mainly the drywall. And the rest will be prioritized as funding is acquired.

Septic should be completed as in necessity. Trench lines, pipe and a $500 tank.

Want to put it in the center of the property, so it can be shared with the future big house.

Spending is halted at or below $2000.

Driveway will be completed as funding is acquired.

And have constant rain for the next 2 days so it looks like, so construction is likely halted over the next 2 days.

I prepared my tarps accordingly, making sure they were well secured.

And should further prepare my studs.

Guess I'll do that on the way to pick up sheathing, underlayment and underlayment nails. Will get roof shingles later.

Anyway, I noticed that construction was really calming compared to the continuing police stress from yesterday.

So, not only do I think construction work is good for the physical activity, but it's also just plain calming. The fact there's good finanial rewards for hardworkers and "good entrepreneurs" (I emphasize the "good" part there because being a good entrepreneur is about understanding what people want and need and willing to pay for, and choosing designs and features that appeal to customers, and having marketing knowledge and savvy.) is just icing on the cake.

There goes my working 3500 hours a year fantasies, lol.

http://www.safetyandhealthmagazine.com/articles/13810-working-long-hours-may-raise-cardiovascular-disease-risk-study

After adjusting for participants’ age, gender, race and wage status, researchers found that risk of a CVD event rose by 1 percent for each additional hour worked each week during at least 10 years in full-time workers.

CVD risk steadily increased starting at 46 work hours per week. Risk was 16 percent higher for workers who logged 55 hours per week and 35 percent higher for employees who worked 60 hours per week, compared with those who worked 45 hours per week for at least 10 years.

Risk was lowest among full-time employees who worked 40 to 45 hours per week.

For employees working more than 30 hours per week, risk rose as their hours neared 40 per week, but risk then decreased as their hours reached 40 to 45 per week.

I have a feeling if I worked 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, with at least 2x 30 minute breaks a day, I'd be no worse for wear.

I actually think I'd go more for 4 days on, 1 day off. Sounds about right. Or 4 days on, 1 day off, 5 days on, 1 day off...

And at least 3-4x 3 day weekend vacations a year. (off friday morning, come back by monday morning).

Wonder how much of this affect is due to "too many demands from the boss" vs. actual working...

Since I'd be the boss, it's hard to imagine I could impose "too many demands" on myself if I wanted to do it.

Got the osb, underlayment, plastic cap nails for the underlayment, roof nails for the asphalt shingles, and half of the asphalt shingles.

I really liked the look of "desert tan" SUPREME VERSION (Or whatever the 110mph winds rated stuff is), but it was $8 more expensive per bundle (need 16 bundles at 33 sq.ft. so $100 more) and I thought on the guest house, we really don't need the most expensive stuff on it. I'd reserve the more impressive things for the primary house, especially since finances are "sensitive" right now.

Synthetic Underlayment was twice as expensive as sufficient 15# felt, but I liked that it told me where to nail in the nails. And I've read it's functionally superior to #15 felt. #30 felt basically is equivalent to synthetic underlayment in cost.

And got a $90 attic fan for $75 because I was looking for the $75 model because I thought I didn't need anything powerful on the guest house (The $90 model is rated for 2200 sq ft. and the roof is decidedly 400 sq.ft., so a bit overkill.), but couldn't find it despite it supposedly being in stock and the manager decided to just give it to me at the $75 price. Wow, I didn't know he had the power to declare losses for the company, lol. I guess his overall performance gets evaluated at the end of the year so he can't be that bad... unless this his first stint at it...

The difference is noticeable performance should be really minimal, thinking non-existent.

Girl remarked I look tired despite my knowing I got enough sleep and feeling energetic at the time and never had felt sleepy throughout the day.

I'm just like eh...

Maybe rings under my eyes from the heart disease...

Maybe the sleep quality yesterday was robbed by the police stress, that's actually a rather good inference. Headache went away after I typed out that they were tyrannical bastards, lol. Yep, there's that withheld anger thing.

Withheld anger leading to stress leading to headaches... calling them tyraniccal bastards released the anger... headache went away...
y.
When something is bugging me, I should learn to complain often and early, lol.

Looks like in the modern economy, the 40-something males are the ones dating the 20-something females. Saw more than one example today.

I'm thinking in this area, attractive girls are actively poached and once snagged, hidden away from public view. It's interesting I don't seem to come across them despite coming across at least 30 people a day. I can only suspect they don't like going out, can't go out (Don't own a car?), or are being widely poached and hidden away.

Suspect it's half can't go out and half widely poached.

Woke up during the "devil's hour" last night. Nothing traumatic happened other than vague exasperation and possible trouble breathing. Got hungry, read people often wake up at 1 due to hypoglycemia, so ate a single banana and no more. And started walking. And had a little cocoa. Thinking I went back to sleep around 4 a.m. because I woke up very shortly past 6. That's the pattern. When I wake up at 1, go back to sleep at 4.

Neighbor said girls will ask you get them something, if you can't do it, they'll find some other guy who will.

I'm thinking... hmmm... what kind of girls are those exactly... specifically using guys to acquire possessions...

The girls I come across don't seem to be looking at me specifically to use me, they look like they want to be my lover.

But then I consider that I've come across the many that wanted to use me to "acquire" a house. And seems like that happens in a lot in divorce..

So maybe that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Picked up the rest of the shingles and a chalk line and utility cutter after seeing the roofing install video using it.

Was looking to install the drainvent but the plumber guy at home depot told me that they use "Autovent nowadays" and doesn't require going out the roof. He sure as heck didn't want the vent go thru his roof, so he used autovent. Just right out the wall, I guess?

So, will look into it.

And, still trying to figure out a feasible plan for install this meter pole. 23 feet and 150 pounds is definitely not a 1 person job with little additional equipment, lol. That person at the store misled me BIG TIME, "Oh yeah, this is easy enough for one person to lift and install". BULL CRAP! lol.

Had my doubts even 2 people could pull it off with the scheme I was eyeballing on youtube. They were lifting 20 foot 4x4s (effective width of 3.5 inches), I think, not 23 foot 7 inch diameter poles. Which is probably roughly 4 times the weight of an equivalently long 4x4.

So, need to figure out an alternate solution or find a successful conventional approach I can use.

Was thinking maybe I could cement in a 20 foot 4x6 right in front of it, then mount pulleys on the top of the 4x6 (using ladders), then use a come along tied to a tree and a 5/8 rope or some such, and wrap it to the top of the pole and start pulling it up.

Or if the 4x6 is too difficult to install, do a 4x4 and screw in a 2x4. Basically trying to get the 6 inch (or 5 inch) width along the axis of the pull, so it doesn't bend much under the strain of the meter pole.

That seemed like a relatively cost-effective solution a single person could pull off.

If I could, I'd probably just go with the pedestal now... but, I got the sucker now and returning it would be no easy task. So probably best to just figure it out. Or at least prove it is infeasible, but obviously tons of people have done this, so it seems like it should be possible, I just wonder without needing to hire a $500 contractor.

Ok, so you need to dig a large really long hole and have 10 people helping you, lol. And mount the top of the pole on a cart or something to just get it off the ground, so you can angle it into the hole.

I think I'll take the idea of a long hole and lifting the head off the ground.

3 people can position the pole wherever it needs to be.

And then lifting it can be accomplished a cemented pole nearby, mounted pulley, come along and a long 5/8" rope or similar.

Or weights mounted to the rope and additionally pulled on manually. This method would potentially enable 1 person to pull it up without needing a come along and the use of a tree.

But what to use for weights...

Looks like 16 foot 4x4s are cheap and easy to acquire. So, maybe pull from the 13 foot mark or such. Most of the weight is at the bottom, just that pulling from the top would obviously require the least amount of force necessary due to leverage.

Anyway, electricity is not a requirement to move. Basically moving when the bathroom gets finished. Which comes after getting the roof and gable sheathing finished, which basically just needs the sheathing and underlayment installed. Shingles can come later, just should get it started within 2 weeks of installing the underlayment. Roof is getting started day after tomorrow.

Looked into it, and looks like their official name is "air admittance valves" and home depot carries them. About $15-20 each.

It looks like it lets air into the pipe, and not that it allows sewer gases to escape. I'm guessing the valve is specifically designed to be one way, so you definitely don't get sewer odors inside the house.

According to a youtube comment, only studor is "code". Home depot doesn't seem to carry studor singles though according to the site, just cases of 20. This might not be true at the store.

So, looks like this would be highly preferable to installing it thru the roof. Less cost and less roofing headaches.

So, long narrow hole will be essential.

The hole itself will prevent the pole from "going sideways" as it's lifted.

This is not something a small circle hole can normally ensure prima facie. Which is what I was thinking about attempting as of this morning.

So now just need to push up or pull up.

The most expedient solution would be 8 strong people to push up. Of course, expedient is relative, there's no immediate access to 8 strong people in the neighborhood. Maybe in the middle of new delhi.

The industry methods are boom truck lift.

So, let's hypothesize about using jacks and blocks. Immediately, it doesn't seem all that safe, but I'll entertain the idea for now.

I could see jacks potentially getting upto 45 degrees or so, but not quite to 90 degrees.

I really think the idea of a nearby cemented pole is really our best bet here, but the hole needs to ensure the cement is all around the base, because if one side of the base is lacking cement, the pole will just bend as tension is applied to it. I know this because this is what my fence did on one of the poles. One side of the pole was a little too close to the side of the hole to get cement so it didn't have cement on that side. It then bent in the direction of that side as tension was applied.

Mounting a 20 foot 4x6 seems ideal, but installation is another issue.

So another idea is to screw in 3x 2x6s into each other after inserting into the hole. Problem with that idea is how to access the top 16 feet to screw it in without it being cemented in. I guess hypothetically you could screw in around the base, then could cement it in, then carefully move up the pole and screw together as you go along.

So there's complexities with that approach too.

I guess another method is to winch to the tree down the way. And maybe should slightly angle the hole in the direction of the tree.

As the pole is slowly winched up, the bottom is tamped down to ensure it's going down to the bottom of the hole, will help ensure the pole won't go left or right.

Jacks and cement blocks can be used to start it off for the winching.

For winching...

Pulley and mounting hardware for the tree. A swivel pulley might be best.

5/8" rope, probably like 100 feet.

And a come along.

Or maybe I should replace the 5/8" rope with a standard winch. But mounting the winch is another issue. With a come long, just secure to another tree.

Now need to verify a 5/8" rope can work with a come along in "continuous mode". Seems like that's what I seeing with that "leaner tree" video.

He explains it shortly after 0:55, and it's actually a half inch rope.

Think once I got the pole erect and stabilized with support beams, I'd just cut the rope. Because the cheap come alongs I've used don't just "detension" when there's tension on the line. The more reputable ones will with great effort.

So once we got the pole hypothetically erect, what's to stop the pole from falling forward.

That's a good question we should probably think about.

Preventing the pole from falling forward once it reaches top.

Hole prevents it from falling too much to the side.

rope prevents it from falling backwards.

But nothing stopping it from falling forwards.

The new delhi video ensured this with 10 people.

Should we have another restraining rope tied to the, say, the utility pole. And how to make that adjustable, a tautline knot? is that the best idea...

This guy has good ideas. Not all of it practical (in particular, all the conveniently positioned trees).

https://ask.metafilter.com/162187/How-do-I-stand-up-a-utility-pole-with-no-heavy-machinery

pole_up.png

Kind of thinking I should really think hard about returning this and swallowing the $150 lost cost.

Just that returning is a whole another set of complexities, lol, since I had to get it delivered.

That girl who told me they were easy were to do by yourself, if that were a guy and I know he tried to mislead me, I'd punch him in the face, lol. But, this girl, I think maybe she's uninformed or confused about what I was looking to use. She didn't exactly come across like some grand schemer.

Lifting it up requires ideally 4 people, though 3 people could plausibly do it.

2 at the base, 1 at top.

This person was able to do with 4 people, so that gives me some hope a small team can pull it off. Maybe even as small as 1. The guys who originally helped me don't seem to be normally around. I get a strong feeling I'd need at least 2 people, if not for the pushing power alone, then the coordination of two different things simultaneously.

Like lifting the pole and putting blocks under it.

Or pushing the pole into vertical and staking in the brace.

thanks to everyone for the encouragement, advice, and well-reasoned warnings. we got the pole up. at first, we tried the gin-pole idea, lashing together two long black spruce poles and hanging a pulley from where they crossed. the plan was to raise the angle of the gin pole as we raised the power pole so the forces would push down the legs of the gin pole rather than at an angle to them. it still seems like this should have worked, or could have worked, but we gave up on it after the gin pole tipped over sidewise at the start of a trial run. the ground was uneven, and we had not secured the pole laterally.
for the second attempt, we had some rough-cut 4x4s on hand for a gin pole, lots of 2x4s for scissor braces (two 2x4s bolted together once about ¾ of the way up), and several willing helpers. we dug a narrow trench that angled into the hole, deep enough so the butt of the pole could not slide out. we rigged up lines to each side of the pole, then ran those lines through pulleys off to each side and back to a single spot, where one person was able to control both lines to keep the pole from tipping sidewise. we also ran a line forward and aft of the pole to help raise the pole if need be and to keep it from tipping too far. then we used man power. three of us held and lifted the pole, while a fourth used the scissor brace to push higher up on the pole than we could reach with our arms alone. the scissor brace held the pole up when we took a break a third of the way through, but in the end a single effort to get vertical seemed to work just fine. the four of us were able to raise the 25’ pole with a reasonable amount of safety and control just by pushing from underneath. the woman holding the lateral lines didn’t have to struggle at all. surely there’s a range from safe to unsafe, and it seems possible that something could have gone wrong here. but I think with enough people, enough of a hole and trench, some 2x4s, ropes and pulleys, and good communication, a pole like this can be raised relatively safely with people power alone.

You know what...

I bet if I offered my neighbor some money to get him to drop off this meter pole, he'd be willing to do it. He looks like he has a trailer. Now just need a team of 3 to load it.

So seems like a lot of late night shootings happen during the witching hour.

Then I thought about the other side of murder, sex, and I just thought there seems to be a lot of copulation that happens during the witching hour at bars or shortly after closing.

So, the witching hour, brings about sex, murder and death.

So many primal things.

That's just so curious.

It's easier to die, to "shut down," when there's no one around, keeping us stimulated to live longer. And so death often sneaks up when others are not around.

https://www.quora.com/Is-it-true-that-most-people-die-between-3am-4am-as-the-body-is-weakest-at-this-time-If-yes-then-what-are-some-medical-reasons-for-this

Definitely seems like there's more "life force" when around other people, but I sure hope this isn't predictive of premature mortality.

If it were though, suspect I'd be susceptible since I definitely bond.

No ones going to live with me here in the shack. And I don't want to commute until I move into the house, which seems safer to leave during the day.

Anyway, page asking about most people die between 3-4 a.m., there's a bit of anecdotal evidence that a particular person's relatives all died at that time. 3-4 a.m. might be another gene variant, in addition to 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

In my daily experience, 6 p.m. has no obvious significance.

However, 10-11 a.m. definitely tends to be a "sleepy" period of time. When the opportunity is readily available, I often nap during this time.

So, think my kind of person would /tend/ be a 10-11 a.m. kind of person.

Of course, no guarantees with my particular person. The episodes at 10 a.m. have been barely significant as far as I could tell. Fleeting carotid pain is about as bad as 10 a.m. gets.

4 a.m., woah, definitely a whole another level of severity.

Suspect that hypoglycemia might underlie 1-4 a.m.

In the past, I would eat 2 pieces of fruit in the morning.

But, this morning, I was still walking with irritation after eating 3 pieces of fruit.

Only after eating 5 or 6 pieces did my walking become content and laidback, as I noticed walking around home depot.

So, suspect my bloodsugars might tend to be low in the morning.

Not hard to extrapolate 4 a.m. might also be pretty low blood sugar wise.

but hard to tell if that's really what's going on. Seems like hyperglycemia /or something/ is easy to achieve eating 3 bananas or so. So, I suspect that glycemia is only partially the story and I don't really know the full story. I just hope it's not too bad even though there's seems to be a few logical inferences for the worst case suspicions, but it kind of requires leaping to conclusions still.

Seems like, recently, the body wants to load up on fruit in the morning, then the rest of day is pretty minimal in terms of fruit desire. it might've always been that way, but was always imposing the du jour diet ideology. (Such as jack le lane's eating 2 carb servings in the morning)

So after understanding phlegm indicates bacterial presence, I changed the diet patterns today and so far, the back of the throat phlegm today has been pretty minimal, almost non-existent during most of the day.

Salty nuts and wine.

And salmon.

Both of those combinations pretty quickly quelled any phlegm from happening, consumed with or after eating fruit.

I'm from a big family, we've had a lot of death. Only one has fit this, but he absolutely destroyed his body and his mind on drugs and alcohol then took to avoiding us. But then there's the bar he hung out at that had a night in his honor after he died. So I'd say he wasn't entirely without people around, even if he visibly and openly didn't have much to live for.

I bet if I offered my neighbor some money to get him to drop off this meter pole, he'd be willing to do it. He looks like he has a trailer. Now just need a team of 3 to load it.

I'd like to see you get 3 people from here to help you with it. I think of the combinations I'd like to see working together on this. Dang! You'd have to record the whole thing. Don't get me wrong, someone like say Amberwolf or Ypedal will ensure success. But thinking of the other 2 to pair one of them with. . . .

I didn't mean to cause Amberwolf or Ypedal to lose sleep or have nightmares at the thought. it's just that I'd love to see the video of this group working with the OP.

You got to Youtube and this movie is live, meaning it plays continuously as though you're watching television. This woman is exactly like YOU imagine. Meaning it's obviously fiction.

Hey, another pic that will spark your imagination.

Her face definitely looks almost like mine but that's obviously a cartoon, so no substantiated association between personality and visage. Coincidence I'd imagine.

The issue in the periphery of houston is that there's not a lot of younger guys out here. They're mostly in their 60s and not too keen on physical labor.,

I can reliably tap 1 neighbor in the new neighborhood. 2 if I happen to find his coworker there.

And I need at least 3 others.

I'm thinking he might be able to tap someone nearby. So, I guess I should exhaust that possibility first.

Everyone I know in this particular neighborhood are in their late 50s/60s. They'll help with experience and knowledge things, like fixing cars, but brute force is another question.

And need to get the roof done, but I'd prefer not getting the sheathing installed and then have it rain immediately afterwards. Which what would happen if I installed it today, wednesday and thursday.

I'd want the weather wrap installed before the rain.

But, I can continue working on other things, like securing the existing sheathing and installing the gable sheathing. Get started on the bathroom framing.

Watching the continuous action movie, and the diner blonde girl does seem to have some of my personality. Have no idea if that's who you're referring to but that's funny.

It's funny, hondurans using "fleeing gangs" rationale to enter the USA.

And here I am fleeing this neighborhood to escape the local gang of illegals. If the illegals weren't "fleeing gangs" in the first place, I wouldn't be either.

(That's not the whole reason, it's also a much better location and nicer looking area. It's also a psychological thing, much less stressful living in a non-threatening environment and also I can use my pool safely. The idea I can't have a pool because I wouldn't use it because it's not safe is a useless piece of land IMO.)

"air admittance valves"
Air admittance valves are for stinking idiots who voted for Trump.

How often do air-admittance valves go bad?

I recently moved into a newer (1997) house which has at least six or seven air-admittance valves. There's one under the sink in the kitchen, one in the (main level) laundry room, one under the sink in the master bath, etc.

I noticed that every once in a while there are some odd smells...not so much sewer gas, but more sewage-like. I was gonna blame it on the dog, but he was not nearby.....

Do these AAVs go bad, stick, or need cleaning?

Are random smells with AAVs normal? Any better models with a charcoal filter or something? Put a sock on it?

Is there some other issue to be concerned about, such as some other blockage or flow problem to watch out for?

The house has four el-cheapo builder-grade toilets that block up very frequently, but I'm sure that's purely a function of the cheap toilets and what the young-uns put into them.

some aav's are better than others. The mechanical ones with a spring for 5 bucks are cheap. Studor vent makes better ones. Venting throught the roof is obviously the best option. They can go bad. They should only open up on negative pressure. Otherwise, they should remain closed so you shouldn't get any sewer smell.

Don't forget roof drip edge, rake edge. Use drip edge on rake if ya like.

Leave a space between 4x8 sheets to allow for expansion. Large nail works as a spacer. Read the words on the sheet for details. If you measure the sheet you will see that it is a little smaller then 4x8.

Read the instructions on the bundles of roof shingles. DO NOT install shingles the way other people do. Important to read and follow the instructions. Shingle manufactures have web sites if you prefer reading instructions on a computer screen.
