im looking for a cad program that will let me do 2d sketches, with the end goal of printing them out on a regular printer, and sticking to them sheet material to be cut out by hand.

preferable free and easy to use.

side use: im contemplating getting a mini cnc mill in the future so it would be nice if my cad sketches could be imported over to a cnc machine.

I love it. Easy to learn. Try it.
The DeltaCad DEMO is a fully functional version of DeltaCad, except it will only work for 45 days. You can download the DEMO and give it a try before you buy.
$40 is a good deal.

Don't know about CNC.
Reads and Writes .DWG, .DXF, and .DXB files

Inkscape can work as a CAD program to do 2D drawings. Super helpful for quick drawings for the laser cutter.
FreeCAD is more versatile ... it can do 2D and 3D

To run a CNC it takes a CAM program.
Autodesk 360 CAD does have some CAM in the software ... it is a software that should at least be explored.

Whatever you find, they all have YouTube tutorials.

wierd, this didn't post when i posted it a few hours ago....
