Hey Guys,
Well, I have been talking about this for quite some time and now I am making it a reality......
The foundation of this build is a design exercise to work out the details of my big X6 twin motor build I am doing for a client. His bike requires some huge work and some very interesting design bits. I had been looking into mocking up some of the parts for his bike when I had a revelation. This little Hooligan is a small version of his twin motored monster. It has many of the same component mounting issues and frame layout as the X6. Therefore, doing a quick build of this bike will function as a mock-up for the X6. With that in mind, I began this build yesterday.
The bike is a Cannondale Hooligan 8 with White Brother's RC80 forks. The brakes are Hope (2 piston rear, 4 piston front). The drive is my V4 (the DaVinci does not fit in the tight confines of this frame) with a 4 turn 3220. The bike weighs exactly 35 pounds as shown here.
I will be mounting 40 amphours of 12s lipo on the bike (yes, it will all fit). I may move to a fan cooled 3 turn 3220 and take this bike to Pike's Peak this year. Heck, I could even do twin 3220s if I mount the drive in a different spot. But, I think that may be too much power and may kill the range.
Anyway, I have the packs ordered. This bike will be quick to build and will set the stage for the pack layout of the big X6 build.
Oh, as always, this bike will be up for sale as well. If it sells, fine. If not, it will be my newest demo bike.
Enjoy.......
Matt
