charging lithium ion colbalt packs

can i bulk charge a battery with the bms still connected?,ie will the bms still ballance the cells if i bulk charge?

Define what you mean by “bulk charge” or the actual example of what you’re attempting.

as in charge via the main battery wires,not via the c- on the bms,thought it would of been obvious.

The balancers will still work. You will generally NOT have overcharge protection if you charge through the load wires. It is critical to use an accurate li-ion charger or supply during charge; you can't treat them like lead acids and overcharge them a little.

Note that 'bulk charge' is a term used for lead acid charging, and is not generally used for li ion charging. In li-ion charging there is the CC and the CV phases.

thanks,thats what i thought,im using a cc cv psu in series with a 13s charger for a 13s pack,mine is 16s so charging at 67.2v.
