Needed a break from building the red BikeE AT so I did a major overdue service on the blue CT.
Brakes, chain, rear freewheel all have over 7000km on them with the rear tire having over 3000km.
My motor hasn't been opened in over 15000km, and after cleaning it up from the Ferro Fluid I added, it looks pretty good.
The bike now has a total of over 25000km on it since being converted to electric. I'm loving how robust it's been...far more reliable than any other electric bike I've ever owned!
New brake pads are coolstop which should do nicely, although I don't really need the extra braking force when combined with regen braking.
I also added some Tanus Armor to the rear tire as can be seen in the photo above. This made installing the rear tire hugely painful and difficult, but a combination of brute force, patience and many metal tyre levers resulting in it being mounted with almost no damage.
This should mean I can run the rear as low as 20PSI for some better bump compliance. I might try 25PSI first though...last thing I want is rim dents or bead separation.
At some point in the next few years I'll also have to do something about the battery. It's only giving at most around 14AH now and has over 500 cycles. It's on it's last legs, but I may not need to replace it if I can parallel it with something external, at least to delay it's demise a bit longer. That being said, I only need around 10AH for my regular commute, so it should last at least another year, and potentially a whole lot longer if I stop using it over the Red AT.
Cheers
