Cresh's Commuter

Yeah, epic ride in this morning. I was on the trail around 6am with more snow coming down heavy at times. Face was cold and wet when I got to work

What controller and battery do you have planned for the 'Borg?

I've been emailing cell man - he can make a 30ah samsung battery fit nicely in the frame, so if I go with his battery I'll get a controller from him also. Lots of $$$ though...

He should develop a 'Borg battery package. There are more sales available...

I feel your pain. The CC trail I ride was plowed up to Bethesda. I have a mile to ride on melting ice chunks. A challenge to stay up. This morning I took a curve that was a thin sheet of ice from frozen melt. Studded tires rule. I slid but gradually recovered :)

Had some time tonight work on the greyborg. man, it is going to be a blast to ride, once i get the batteries that is :D

How big tyres do you have on the greyborg frame?

I have 26x2.5 hookworms. A lot of people seem to like smaller diameter, but I like the larger size. I guess I'm just used to it, have not tried smaller rims yet.

Hey, I hope you're enjoying spring. Although today and tomorrow are pretty nasty, it won't last.

How's your greyborg build going? I was thinking of ordering some things from cellman too. If you are still considering it, it might make sense to go in together to save a lot on shipping.

The Borg is coming along... slowly. Yes, I do plan on ordering from cell man. How much do you think we can save on shipping? And I can't remember, you are in DC, right?

Yeah, in DC proper, 2 blocks from union station. I guess how much we could save depends on whether you would need to buy a battery, which requires the expensive service. I am looking to pick up a new battery (and maybe a MAC kit), so for just that and a charger, I'm looking at around $150 in shipping. So if we split that, we'd save about $75 each, which seems totally worth it. I'm not in a hurry because I'm interested in possibly waiting because Paul's supposed to be getting slightly better chemistry samsung cells in soon.

I was thinking of the INR18650-25R, but now that I look a little closer, for a MAC kit the 29E cells would have plenty high discharge rate in a 16AH size.

So I'd be ready to order whenever you'd want.

Shipping for one mac kit and a battery is actually showing as $227.50 for me now!

Not quite ready yet... I noticed that the motor was really loud and controller was getting real hot, so I swapped phase and halls and it's a lot quieter now and runs cool. Just need a battery and a few other small items and it will be ready. My first full suspension bike!

nice. looks so skinny w/o the sides! so you got their fork w/ dual calipers?

the triangle pack had to be for your old commuter right? were you hoping to use it on this? how many volts is the controller?

i've got some 18fet ones if you're interested..

yep, I got the full package and a speed drive, so I have a "two speed" single speed.

Controller and battery running this is 48volts, its from my commuter now. I'm looking at the cellman battery packs. I think I can have him make me a split pack that holds about 30AH @ 75v.
