CYC x1 Pro Gen 2 dead or not?

Seems cyc doesnt do much to support older gen X1 pros. I had the hardest time to find an app that would connect to the x6 controller. in the end i find one called cyc motor that would connect. but no way to upgrade any firmware. but at least i could use the motor for a couple of days. then suddenly display died and when i turned it back on all the numbers and lights are on and its 100% unresponsive. motor seems dead too. ive tested resitrance and voltage where i can and controller doesnt indicate anything being wrong. I read somewhere about shorting some b+ and - but nowhere showing then x6 plug and what is what. Really frustrating trying to find relevant documentation when nothing corelates from what u read to what i see on my setup...my trottle and display are on the same return cable to controller. and no plugs to short as the display is female and connect to a male plug that furter goes into a 4 plug female plug. i dont understand how 7 wires from display and some from the trottle can become only 4 female connectors before going into controller. anyway. anyone know how i can run this controller and motor without a display?

The X1 Pro Gen 2 came with a BAC 855 or 2000 controller, not the CYC in house X6. Did you upgrade it to the X6 or did you buy it used with X6 already in? The X6 works with the newer CYC Ride Control app that applies across the board to CYC motors whereas the BAC versions have a different app. I believe both apps are still available at CYC. Maybe the X6 controller is bad or wasn't installed properly? If you have the old BAC you could swap that in and try that.

so i actually just have the very early stock controller.... and i connected 72v to that... i assumed it was coocked and connected a 72450 fardriver controller and now it works great...

Almost no kit comes with a reliable, properly tuneable, or well designed controller.
I always throw the stock controller out on everything and used to use infineon clones but now i'm a VESC guy since it can handle really high RPM motors.

FYI, CYC X- controllers are VESC based/compatible.
Sometime ago, I found someone who used the vanilla vesc-tool to connect, didn't bookmark it, so would have to find again.
