My daughter's Daymak montee carlo 72v batteries controller died. We went to Daymak main warehouse in Toronto. They told us that the scooter was 4 years old so there was no more exact replacement parts. However they sold us a replacement controller that "should" work. It was suppose to be the same board. Well the harness is totally different, no labels on the harness and the board is totally different. Even the wires in the harness are bundled different. The voltage that goes to the fob security system is not even the same. Nothing matches.
The original system has a security fob system.

I am a millwright but not a electronic specialist.
I want to rig it in a simpler manner. no security system, with brakes, 3 speed switch, throttle, and 12v step down converter for the headlight and signal lights.
Can someone help me with a cost effective 72v controller with a pin out or wiring harness labels and a 12v step down converter.
Will I need to buy a new throttle?

It would be greatly appreciated for the help. My daughter is very unhappy with me at the moment.

They probably gave you a compatible controller. You may want to post a photo of the old and new controllers to show the wires. On page 19 of the manual from the website it shows a wiring diagram for a typical brushless motor controller. The wire colors may match. The size of the wires and arrangements may be clues. You may be able to figure out the wires by actuating the brakes etc. The old throttle is likely to work. If you can change as little but the controller to get it working, it may be easier than trying to simplify the turnkey system.

I very much agree with you. The suppliers need to offer easy to follow instructions for what the leads are for what and how to correlate them with your old controller. What we're dealing with is electronic nerds:)
