Hi all.

Just got the Daymak Ultimate Platinum 60V Lithium scooter and am finding it SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not a bad bike. So far seems pretty good.

Questions:
1- Is there anyway to pep it up?
2- Anyone know which wire is the Limiter on it? Or is it Firmware?

I would like to get at least 30-35kph out of it.

Found nada there. :) Would changing the Controller to a better one do? and can I hook both batteries in Parallel or Series Boost the performance? I has 2 60V/12AH Lithium batteries.

I had a look and I only found a White with Blue Stripe ire that looped back in. It had a Connector which I disconnected. I tried it yesterday and, according to GPS, it clocked at 31-35kph.

Also, I've attached a pic of the Controller. I see 52V=/- 0,5V. Is that the Rating? I have 2-60V 12AH Lithium Cells in it.
 
Also, would it be better to Replace the Controller? And where would I get a Good one?
 
Any other single wire connectors? If not, the controller is probably not limiting the speed, rather the battery voltage being the limiting factor. If you're planning on trying the batteries in series, you'd need to first make sure that the controller input capacitors and MOSFETS can handle the voltage.

I checked again and found a White wire that looped back. I was already cut. Looks like the Dealer cut it. I did a couple of Trial runs with the White/Blue striped wire, connected and disconnected and the results were the same according to GPS. 31-35kph. The bike has a Hydraulic brake in front and a Mechanical one at the back. I was only looking to up the speed to around 40kph. s'All I need :)

So, with the Batteries being 60V/12AH would limit the max speed? Guess I'll have to either live with it or go back to taking a Bus and sell the bike :)

Would 60V/20AH better the speed?

I had a Motorino XPN that got totaled when an Idiot threw his car door open! OUCH! I would've bought another, but the Dealer here in Ottawa is a CROOK!!!!!!!!!!!! He actually absconded with the controller in the bike. WAY too many problems to deal with him.

Anyways, thanks for the replies and I'd apprieciate any tips on improving the performance of my new one:)

I'd also love to find out how to tie them in Parallel, just so I won't have to switch between the 2 batteries.

60V/20AH will not make the scooter run any faster just farther, it will roughly double your range.

To go faster the cheaper way you will have to increase the voltage lets say to 72v or higher at the risk of the components on your bike not being able to handle the increase and burning out. Have you searched to see if anyone with the same type of bike has upgraded to 72v or higher?

Thanks for all the replies. But I decided to get rid of it. I was going to either sell it or Trade it, it wasn't possible to do anything with it. Also, it wasn't as advertised on the Daymak website. Some of the features that decided me to buy were never part of the bike. I talked about it with the shop I bought it from, "Picture Plus " in Ottawa, they were GREAT, they suggested I trade it for a Daytona model. THe Daytona has the Safety Feature I was looking for and has enough range for now. From the sounds of it, they ordered a Daytona and had it ready for me to pick up today. They even suggested that I ride it for a couple days before I decide!!!!!! And if I take it, they'll refund the difference in price!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!! Rode it home, approx 30km and still had more then enough for a Timmies run :)

The Daytona is solid, rides smooth and looks good too:) I can't say enough about this shop!!!!!!!!! If you need a bike and are in Ottawa, head there. Cain the Owner is a Good guy.

Again, I thank all who posted replies. Great to have a place to yak with Knowledgeable people:)

Hi all

I was thinking of changing the motor on my Daymak Daytona using a Motorino XPN motor I have from my previous bike. The Motorino motor is physically bigger, but it should fit. My Daytona has a 500W with a 60V/20AH battery pack. The Motorino ran 2-48V/20AH battery packs in parallel. Besides the physical aspect, would I need to switch out the controller, or can I just drop in in?

Any Ideas?

sometimes you can hack the charger to spoof it into pushing more current. depending on your experience. or you can use a second charger for 60V SLA and wire the two up in parallel.

or do both, hack both chargers and wire them up in parallel but for SLA i think you wanna keep the charging rate under .5C.
 
Hi all

I have a Daymak Daytona with a 60V/20AH SLA battery pack. Can I drop in a LiFePO4 60V/20ah Pack as a straight replacement? Ping Battery has one and am looking at ordering it.

Please let me know

Hi all

I just purchased a 60V 20ah LifePO4 battery pack from Ping Batteries and want to install it into my Daymak Daytona.
My questions are:
1) Has anyone done this to a Daymak Scooter?
2) are there only 2 wire going from the Battery pack to the Controller? or is there more connections to be made? I haven't cracked the case on the bike yet. :)
3) does anyone have the Wiring Schematic for the Daytona?
4) anyone have a Step By Step? Would really hate to mess this up. :)

Any HELP would be greatly apprieciated :)

it should be only a pair of poles from the battery to the controller, maybe with a fuse between or a power lock.

Sometimes you have another extra pair of wires from the battery pack only for the charge
