Different connectors on battery

Is the there any real harm in using different connectors on my battery. I'm trying to avoid another short and thought that it would be a good idea to use an Anderson on the pos and a 4mm hxt bullet on the neg. so I couldn't mix the connections like I did before. I get up at 4:00am sometimes to go to work and I'm not all there some times to say the least.

It's on a 48v li ion pack. I know it only two wires that I have to connect but like I said it's happened once and I fried my bms. I understand that the current draw would be different but I figured it would be almost negligible. One 45amp Anderson on red and a 4mm hxt bullet on the black.

Use a male 4mm bullet on one lead and a female on the other.
No chance of crossing them.

Still leaves the chance of plugging pos and neg. leads together on batt.

Using two different connectors is the only fool proof way.

Or use XT90 plugs?

Realistically, you shouldnt be unplugging your batteries much anyway. Just have anderson connectors from your charger to your BMS?

Hate xt90. I don't like the idea of leaving my CA on all night by keeping the wires hard wired.

So still leaves the question is current draw on two different connectors negligible?

There are so many connectors designed to work unidirectionally that I don't see why you'd need to go to two connectors.

(this one is good because you can put one pin high where the thin red wire is so it is unique left right and up down)

or use a triple bullet as above but only use the middle and one side, meaning if you reverse it then nothing happens.

You can also just put one of these key switches in-line and be done with it.

Bet you he's talking about kff ing when hooking up lipo after a charge.

I took to the same routines that keep pilots alive.

Establish a method, and use the same method every single time. Take your time, using a method that confirms which wires are in your hand before you connect.

I stopped Kff ing when I made the routine set in stone.

I'm trying to develop a foolproof setup and I have 4mm bullets and Anderson's on hand. I know thère is a lot of connectors out there that would do this but I have the connectors at home already. I just wanted to know if I could use 4mm and Anderson's on the battery. That's all I want to know.

Ah ok, then the answer is yes.

Though I still like the idea of three wide bullets and only using the middle and one side. :)

if you reverse polarity on the controller and short out the battery, it will not damage the BMS but it will burn up the controller. the BMS should open circuit when it detects the current surge and should protect the controller too. are you sure the BMS was damaged by reversing polarity? but it did not damage the controller?

Controller went undamaged but BMS burnt at the mosfet. A small fire occurred which burnt the bms. I have showed a pic of this before.
I know I'm being overly paranoid but like I said at 4:00am in the morning when I'm rushing out of the house to get to work I don't trust my senses.
