E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Thanks Kepler for looking into that. Greenlight, was the controller wire mod you did on your older Bomber?

Dunk, yes indeed, a little urban camoflauge can go a long ways. Because if it says 200 watts, than it must be 200 watts right? Like that swingarm protector. Did that come stock with yours?

Worst part is that everybody will ask me how much this thing cost and if I tell them the truth, nobody will understand...I will be the crazy one!
Allex, you will be crazy happy with all of the fun you are going to have. You are right though, when I tell people what the cost was, I get all kinds of shit about it and nobody that has ridden a high quality electric bike has a clue how much fun the Bomber (and Fighter) can be. So do what I do, dont give shit about other peoples opinions  they just dont' know what they are missing. :p

Rix, the bigger wire mod was done on my newer Bomber :)

By his picture it looks like the bike have:
Quigley alloy kickstand
Quigley mudguard
Quigley chain-guard
Dunken, do you work there? I am thinking of maybe buy mudguards. Want to have the kickstand to but, soo much money....

How well does the rear mudguard hold of the dirty drops of you back? Look a bit short to me...

To all fellow Bomber Owners,

I have 3 sets of TITANIUM BOLTS AND WASHERS to sell off, listing is here and self-explanatory http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261191789410.

Cheers,

Domed head allen bolts would have looked 100% tidier and neater. I also have to ask, what is the point of titanium fittings on a 53kg bike?

Lads, think I going to order a Bomber From Michael Brown. Then ship it to me. Damn this forum!
Dont know what color to get yet, hard to choose, maybe white with white swing, all the rest stock...

Worst part is that everybody will ask me how much this thing cost and if I tell them the truth, nobody will understand...I will be the crazy one!
Allex, in Canada the Bomber goes for $12,000 which is more than the latest crop of 600cc sportbikes from Kawa, Honda etc. so its alot of cash for sure. When I tell someone here what I spent for an electric bike, they all think I'm crazy. However, no need for insurance or gas or oil changes or tune-ups. I can ride on the road (as long as I use discretion when going fast), I can ride it in the parks, the trails which are off limits to loud gas powered bikes, bicycle paths etc. without bothering anybody due to the quiet electric motor. I've owned seven motorcycles in the past and they all attract the wrong kind of attention. Been there, done that. Stealth chose the perfect name for their company!

Another justification measure for me is the cost of purchase divided against the number of riding opportunities. Sure you can get a great Moto for the same price but how often would you get it out to your favorite off road track? The Stealth would be used 10 times more then a trail bike simply because its so easy and convenient to get it out there. :). You will find you take any excuse to get on it too. The wife wants some bread and milk from the shops. Sure I will go a get it darling :). Browny points scored and a quick squirt on the bike. Win win :D (or is that just me  )

Also don't forget the great resale on stealth bikes. Worst case is that find you its not for you and decide to move it on. Unlike a moto, the depreciation is very low so you aren't going to take a big hit.

Kepler, this is even more fact than what Morati said about being able to ride just about everywhere (which he is 100% correct BTW). I sold two KTMs to get my Bomber. I rode both bikes an average of 4 times a month. I ride my bomber at least 4 times a week. And since the weather is getting good, every day lately. Still even when the weather was absolute crap I average more rides a month on the Bomber than the gassers during nice weather. I still have a gasser (full on custom Beta Evo 250) and I don't ride that bike 1/4 as much as I ride the Bomber. If I had to choose, one over the other, its no choice, Bomber wins. And like I told Allex, when you tell people have much they cost, people will scoff at the price because they don't understand. Anyway Kepler, this was a great point you made. 8)

Well, you can get a good gas bike for 6000USD rest of 6 you can spend on gas/insurance many years to come. Sure you cannot take it in the parks but you can take it on the highway and have your girl with you! So both have theirs pros and cons for sure. For me, the Stealth would be perfect, to bad that police would stop me when riding on highway like Anderym does in Moscow... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_75njA0kzDY

Lol...No don't work there, but wanted to get a few items that would make my work commute less wet and dirty if it rained etc...

Yeah, they are all really well made and the guard definitely works in rain...but I don't go off road, so cant give an opinion on mud and grit though...

Dunk, you don't go off road? Man, you are missing out. The Bomber works great on road, and even better off road.

Felt my wires after a fun/fast ride around the farm yesterday. Phase wires were very warm and wire to the battery was maybe just warmer than air temp.

Sounds about right. Your battery cables are seeing around 60A and the phase cables probably 150A. Suggests the Phase cables would benefit more with a cable up-size then the battery cable. Not so easy though. 11# Teflon coated is a tight fit through the motor shaft. I don't think I would like to open up the slot to fit bigger wires though. I would prefer to keep the axle strength.

I'm sure it does mate....but I now depend on it to get me back and forth to work...(10 miles each way) and want this to go on for years...
If I had the time for off roading...(young family) I would get another one for just that ... ;)

When I was looking at getting a ebike...the rest of them looked to "pedestrian" and I wanted something that looked cool and was built to last...

Well pleased.... ;)

Can confirm Stealth offering Brake pads for Gators currently.
Still - I ordered Hope Tech Stealth V4 Evo brakes which look really gnarly and evil in black...

Thanks for that Manxe, I'm glad that my info isnt old and dated.

With you Dunk, I have a take home vehicle for 24 hour recall or I would be doing the same thing and using the Bomber as a commuter.

Ezza, checked my wires today as well. The halls coming out of my 5404 are 11g stepped up to 10g (my mod) and they were warm. The wires coming out of my controller going into the frame to the battery were hardly warm at all.

Yes, the black STEALTH V4 from hope is the perfect fit for stealth bomber. Ordered mine in combination with V2 vented rotor :)

Very good choice. You will have no regrets.

Cowardlyduck - This sucks but as long as you ride nicely - and claim that your e-bike is a legal import you should have no issues in the USA. If you illegally modified it, well, then you can probably ditch and sobs that are bitching. I've ridden 1000 miles on bike paths in CA at legal speeds and way slower when I pass with a bike bell, that most people do not notice. If you ride like a motorbike off road instead of more like a mtn bike 5 mph uphill, then you will help red flag Stealth... But as long as we all ride like normal bikes on and off road where bikes and mtn bikes go (not motor dirt bikes where you can try to ride like a dirt bike) we'll be fine. Also, cops do not follow forums, so I would not worry much. In 5 years when the tech gets cheeper, we may have an issue.

I finally got my bike all set up like I want it. I definitely can do little tours on this bad boy. Only thing I missing so far is my fenders which come into tomorrow if anyone want s to know more about my bike. Just hit me up.
