E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Looks sweet Allex, you wont be disappointed.

Dh Paule, like the fender, but mounted on the shock the way it is the one picture, does the rear wheel hit the fender under compression? The rate of travel at the shock bolt is much less than that the axle bolt. Just curious.

Allex...same problem I had when I ordered my Bomber but perhaps if the bike is gonna be illegal (it is where I am from) then Black will be the preferred colour. White is awesome, it screams with so much attention lol...but then the authorities will take notice too...

Yah Allex, the cops are stupid and blind, they would never spot a black or army green bomber blowing past them at 50+ MPH 80+kph but would spot a white, orange or yellow one a mile away. Just funnin with you Stealthsg. You bring up a good point though. I agree with you and think this could be true, especially in low light or night time riding conditions.

I actually think the black sticks out more and is more obvious at a casual glance. The lighter brighter colours are broken up by the cf inserts and when blurring past looks less like a big solid boxed in frame (that it is). Ride against alot of black or carbon fibre walls and you're sorted :p

I love mine in white but its got a few chips and rub marks on it from general use so im thinking about painting it. Fluro pink plastidip anyone ?
(anyone else noticed that apparent fad of painting your car rims terrible fluro colour)

Cops love RED in the USA - which is why I stopped buying RED sports cars. White vs Black. Our eyes naturally look at the highlights. As a photographer you learn to look into and expose the shadows or not. So if you want stealth - like a Ninja - BLACK - is proven in special ops, bombers, fighters... no white baby. Next up on the ground is desert brown or green camp - that may scream why is a military bike on a public bike path?!... thus black... I've ridden 1200 miles on bike paths in California without much of an issue - 1 or 2... from the front or back you look kinda normal and then you are gone. It's only at a side distance that people drop their mouth in a shock and awe as what is that?!... the more you ride like a normal bike, slow way down by walkers, dog walkers and riders like you should unlike most street insane (street bikers), most people have no clue and like that you are nice and safe... add a bike bell helps... DO NOT GO OUT and buy dirt bike helmets, clothes, protection and expect to blend in with in with bike riders... you must adapt... and blend... be stealth... never go above 20mph visible to the public and you will be fine... Now, on your all alone places - 30+ is a @#$ blast... but make sure that is far away from your house where 1 call to the cops will get you on their watch list to bust or question. Don't ruin it for us stealth bombers and fighters by letting the cops know that they maybe modified... for fun and safe riding... like a normal motorcycle but can go where no motor bike can go... if ridden smartly.

I'm gonna be transporting my Bomber in the back of my pick-up and I was wondering if anyone is using a "motorcycle type wheel chock" for this or for storage purposes.

Doesn't look like it would be too difficult to modify one for this purpose.

Dont know what your tiedown placement hooks are like, but you shouldn't need a wheel chock in your truck for the Bomber. I transported my Bomber a couple of weeks ago from Nevada to Idaho and over 1000 miles round trip. 2/3 of the travel was on twisty roads. Never had a problem. Just put the front wheel in the corner fo the bed and secure it with motorcycle straps and forget about it. Couple of stretches I opened up my truck and hit 115MPH. Would have went faster but my truck is governed. Anyway no problems with wind either. But I would like to mount a bed buddy in my truck so I can haul my gasser and bomber more securelly at the same time. This is probably the best way to go for trucks.

Powerfloe, right on all accounts. To summarize what you said, ride smart around other bicycles and pederstrians, bike paths, parks, school zones, and there will be no problems.

@powerfloe: where is the +1 button ;)
Fully agree except the helmet, there I am using a light dh-helmet (specialized deviant)

Im using the Hope V4 brakes with the floating rotors and can say they are night and day difference than the Gator 8 pistons. They feel alot sronger with better modulation and brake pressure. I ride my bikes DH at Whistler/Blackcomd mountain all summer long with no problems with brake fade

Hey Greenlight - a few questions about your Hope V4's:
Are you using the 203mm rotors? Front and rear? Any problems mounting them?
Presumably you need particular adaptor brackets to attach to the forks and the swingarm on the Bomber. How are you set up?

Thanks! ManxE

Hey all,
Has anyone made an additional battery pack for the bomber or fighter that can either be attached to the bike or backpack? for range extension? Are the stealth bikes set up for this?

ManxE, Hope makes a adapter (post to fox 40 203mm) mount for the front which I used spacers to fit a 220mm rotor.
Hope adaptor mount (post to IS 203mm) for the rear

- hope mount G for rear position (postmount to IS2000)

- hope mount E for FOX40

- hope mount B for RST fork

these adapter will work with 203mm

I have two Bomber battery's and I use the 2nd on a rear rack for longer trips. I installed a plug in jack in parallel on the rack. takes under a min to plug in strap down and ride.

Advantages are: will never hurt a battery due to the low draw using two. Bike is faster, with 1 battery it pulls a max 4500-4700 watts, with two it pulls 5400 watts. 0 sag even down to near depleted. Riding on the street its a far better ride with the extra weight as the rear shock is made for a MC that weighs more or its just not worked hard enough on the street regardless of settings.
It seems to use less WH/M for some reason. One ride I went 100.3 miles and had enough to go 145 miles I calculated...was a slow ride with road bikes 20 MPH.

Disadvantage: Its very top heavy when leaned over at a stop. Broken racks till I found one rated for 35 lbs.

Yeah the sag is noticable when parallelling up for more capacity. Likewise as batteries get older you notice the sag more, particularly under hard acceleration.

On an unrelated note here's my latest vid, buzzing around at the start then doing a bit of exploring later on

some pictures from hope V4 in combination with vented V2 rotor. Used the V2 because its "older" that means cheaper ;) and its a bit more massive, better for cooling.

at the FOX40:

It takes some time to adjust the correct position, but if this is done you will have an anchor that will stop you instantly at a fingertip to brake lever ;)

Paule, nice brakes. Looks like very powerful 4 pot calipers. The diameter of the piston pots look huge. So... how do the brake work?

Hyena, love the video. Makes me wish I lived in Australia.

Yeah, Australia is quite an awesome country. I visited Sydney and Blue Mountains Area. I love to go back. Seems that they have plenty of biking trails even in the urban areas. Whom ever recommended Brooks saddles, I thank you it is the best bike seat I have ever sat on.

I think it was Quiet Rush that posted the Brooks saddle. I am hoping to get to Perth next year. The only two continents I haven't been to are Australia and Antartica. Don't really care about ever getting to Antartica, but Australia is on my bucket list.

Ah, well I thank him. It is so surprising something so simple is so comfortable. Just waiting for my bike to recharge so I can go on a ride. I am hoping BikeSpike gets funded it looks like a good GPS tracker. I have a good bike cable lock but being the Bomber is something nice and sort of rare. I can seem tons of people trying to steal it. They have raised 113,000 need to raise 150,000 by three days. So if your interested in the product or think it be nice addition to your bomber here's the link http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1054587410/the-bikespike

Thx for the info. Im in the process of getting a bomber now and wanted to see if this was a relatively easy thing to do. Im know gas engines inside and out but this whole electricity thing is new to me . I would prob have someone help me out with such things. Hyena that vid makes me miss Australia bad.. beautiful place.

On another non related note has anyone ever done a side by side video of the bomber vs the fighter for acceleration and uphill ability? like
this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kV-PCvE2fKY
except with both bikes?

and on a third note!!! Ive read this entire thread about the bikes and was also looking for hill climb info. In reading it seems that hub style motors can be damaged from prolonged climbing. Is there a way to tell if its about to get damaged? Such as temperature it shouldn't go above or if you hear it struggling?

Thanks for everyone for being very helpful!
