E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

So it seems I was a bit too assertive with my sb178 sponge bath, and the right button on my CA Ver 2.25 is inop.
I've tried drying the top/bottom of the CA with a heat gun...... but no dice.

A couple questions for you guys on this 2012 CA 2.25:
1. Is it simply glued in place? I don't see any brackets or bolts affixing it in place.
2. Will this button dry-out on it's own?
3. Can I buy an upgraded CA from fleabay, and just plug-n-play install?

THX> ALL..... talking to you all justifies my ebike addiction.

Anyone know what the he11 happened to quigley? I bought $800 USD worth of stealth stuff back in Nov... and have not heard hide-nor-hair from the chap since... I put a claim in through paypal.... as I'm approaching a dead-line (after which point I can't make a claim) L>>>> :)....... I hope the dude is OK. I know he seems to sell some good stuff, and I looked up some very good posts from him back in the day.

He could have been eaten by a giant kangeroo

The display on the right is CA that was removed from Bomber. It is attached with simple double sided tape to the frame. I think it has some kind of special housing for Stealth. The stock CA housing - at least the new version does not look like this.

Looks like the CA 2.25 is just held on with double sided 3m tape. I've got some tape on order.
In the mean time, I'll see if the unit dries out on it's own. If not, I'll pull it apart and hit it with a hair dryer.
I'm jealous of you guys in the desert regions...... you get to ride on dusty trails. It has been cold and rainy here for weeks.

its been same ere f**k**g awful, I've been out a few times but end up coming home looking like the bog monster hoping to get out over the weekend, I've just purchased the new bultaco brinco for the mrs so hopefully get her out on it had a quick go it feels quite impressive !!!

OMG, it looks like your limiter wire has somehow become accidentally damaged.

Funny MAN!
......

I removed the back cover of my CA 2.25 while still on the bike.
I carefully took a heat gun on low setting to all the circuit board, and contacts..... that I could access.
It was all bone dry.
I suspect the problem with the right switch is the fact that it is factory sealed ribbon contact tape connections...... so perhaps the switch died in the ribbon tape.
In any case appears to be non-servicable switch.

So Now I guess I need to contact Stealth for a replacment CA for my 2012 SB-178?

I can ride it as is... but without the right button I have no way to reset anything. I just have to remember my cumulative AH's....... and go from there.

I'll probably just wait and replace the the CA when (if) I do a major rebuild on the bike and do it all up pretty in candy apple red.... all blingy style...... but to tell you all the truth, I'm having too damn much fun riding to even consider taking this apart long enough to make it pretty

...... shipping co called today... said they have a motorcycle crate from some company called sleuth.....said they would ship it from Chicago terminal to my house next week..... so I... (er uH) I mean my wife get's a new toy next week.

All the new bikes I buy are for my wife too. If it my fault she doesn't like any of them?

I contacted Grin Tech and they said they might have some of the old film-switches I can solder back on this old CA to get back in the game.
Back-up plan is a couple small water-proof mom switches on the dash... but I had to drill new holes, AND have unused old triangle holes.... I have something called OCD> :)

I installed a couple of button switches in my frame. The one on the right turns on the lights, and the one on the left toggles the limiter, which somehow became accidentally damaged similar to Alex's.

Anyone have the Stealth USA tour cities and dates? I asked to be added to the email list for the tour but haven't heard anything. I'd like to drop in when they come through Texas again.

Maybe I can have my Flux Alpha put together and let them ride it!

Mammalain, Stealth will be in Austin TX on 1/16/16. Tell JK and Mark high from us at Endless Sphere. Get some pics also if it isn't too much problems.

Nice TV is the limiter just wired to the wire that we all have to cut for limiting (allegedly)

Allegedly, yes LOL. It works on the fly too. No need to turn the bike off. I thought it might be necessary two years ago when I first got my bike, but since then I've needed to use it a total of zero times.

TV - I did some research before buying my stealth, and was planning on alot of cloaking, and switches to cut power..... and to be honest no body really pays attn to me at all.......... even pedalling @ 35-40mph.... their visual paradigm shows that I'm just really healthy pedaller on a lowley mtn bike :).... no cloaking needed, no mad-max anti-destruction switch necessary.

I took the SB-744 bomber on a run this AM in 37 deg F weather..... boy does the cold kill my range..... 20 mins of full throttle riding and I'm down to 50%...... suspect the cold affects this? or perhaps my gorilla throttle hand.

I did notice the suspension being super "springy".... even set at most firm damping up front, and slowest rebound settings. The coil spring is fully backed out..... so since I'm at 209 lbs.... I suspect I need to add some pre-load to the rear coil over spring.

I'll be shopping for some front fork upgrades. LMK if you rec something..... The older SB178 suspension is so much more planted and firm than the new bike..... don't know if the oil/seals are just old and lack movement, or if they are upgrades... but I like them better. I'll keep tweaking the new bike.

That's Texas. No one really pays attention to me either, even riding 45 of 50 mph down the street.

My son has a new B52 too, and his bike has the same mushy forks. My older forks are a lot stiffer, and feel very good riding at high speeds.

Thanks Rix. I'll reach back out and see if I can get a location.

EDIT: Location is Kent Powersports tentatively set to arrive at Noon on the 16th.
