Is it a good or a bad idea?

I guess I had an issue with the charge mode that went on by himself while I was riding, than wen I pushed the regen button the power board burned. Probably the culprit was my old RC7b firmware that I was advised to upgrade but I didn't. They changed the power board the halls cable and upgraded the Firmware at the latest RC9G4. One cool feature I read about the latest firmware is the possibility to lock eco mode with a password but I need to find out how to use it.

If you got a side stand or park your bike more or less leaning to the same side you could get away with only one hole

Interesting It was a firmware issue. I think I heard something about that a while ago. I not touching my controller, its working sweet now, got the settings dialed. No messing that up. I am not a believer of using regen, never have been, so if there was a firmware that eliminated that, I would down load it.

Update on squeaky SB178 rear suspension:
I swapped the complete rear shock from the non-squeaky bike, and no change.
Then I pulled the seat frame... and you might recall I had a crack in the orig seat frame, which I had welded up during the rebuild.
And thinking I was a clever guy.... I added a 3rd top mount hole in the top row.......

So this is weird... if I only install the outer 2 bolts on the top row.... .no squeak...... but if I install the middle screw as well.... then major squeaks.
I suspect the seat frame is cracked in the middle upper bit..... OR the bike frame is cracked in that spot, but I can't see anything under the paint.

SO..... I've got an order in with Stealth for a replacement seat frame... I'll start there.

Mine also squeaked like a thousand mice. Hopefully that goes away when my frame and subframe are repaired.

I was so focused on suspension bushings, I didn't even consider that. you will probably solve your problem with the new sub frame.

Old pedals…….didnt even feel it happen probably after several hits it broke..
New pedals……these are pretty bad ass I feel like Im using running boards they are about the same size as the old ones but they feel very positive and stable..

Lumnia 750s are pretty damn good.. I usually use 2 of em one mounted on the bars one on the helmet.. but tonight only 1 on the bars.. it has 4 settings. low/med/bright/flash.

Nice Pedals you've got there. I have been using saints pedals and brakes on my Bomber for 4 - 5 months now. And i love them. The brakes are just insane. The wetter it gets the better they work. And you have full controle of the modulation of the brakes. Witch is a very good thing since you can fully lock up the wheels no matter the speed or surface.

Yah, night riding for sure would be a little slower. I guess we would get more range out of our batteries riding at night and taking it easy.

The main concern is all the wildlife that comes out at night, and the bugs that follow your lights.

Hi folks,
FYI...it took a lot more wheel weights than I expected to static balance the rear wheel. It now spins up to full speed (106kmh) on the stand with not a wobble.

I'll let you know how well the weights stay in place when smashing through the bush.

Please note this important pre-test advice. Always check for dog .... on your tyre before full throttling on the stand in the shed. My dog's .... is thrown off the tyre very effectively in all directions at full throttle!

Yah, camp Darby is an Army base with an Airforce detachment. Even have some Navy there. I passed through there once about 15-16 years ago. Strange how time goes by. Doesn't seem that long ago. Thanks for posting the pic. Does you MAX E work good now?

Looking for a bit of advice / info from anyone with a Fighter / F-37..

Does the 2 speed stock Schlumpf gearbox limit you to certain speeds (when pedalling for assist)?

I currently have a BH Evo (250W pedelec), and go riding with a group of mates (non-ebikers) each week - I match speed and cadence with them, using all the normal gears. In general we'd ride around 20 ish km/hr, sometimes up to 30ish on flat, or much slower on sandy / hilly tracks. I'd love to upgrade bikes, but am not sure if the fighter would suit me, and online reviews and info on just how the fighter goes with 2 speeds is pretty limited. I like to pedal most / all of the time, but use light motor assist to help with my dodgy joints...

Would a fighter with the 2 speed schlumpf be able to let me ride normally with them, while pedalling most of the time? Or would i find it weird coming from a normal pedelec with standard derailleur and plenty of gears? Riding by myself would be fine I suppose, but social riding is a big part of what I want to do too..

The bomber might be better I suppose, but it is more $ and I like the idea of the smaller/lighter fighter, since I have always had bikes and never ridden motorbikes.

Hopefully some of you guys can give me some advice..

For those who are curious to know what the 1500Wh Racing class in the HunterEVFestival is like from the riders perspective, I've put up full race footage from rider briefing, warm up lap to race end and track exit. Should give you a feel for what it's like from the back end of the pack..awesome race this year, but it's got me thinking some more about homologation to keep it a more level playing field to keep the racing closer and more interesting. If only they were all Stealth Fighters..but we had a mix of Raptors, Flux, Braaps and my Stealth Fighter demo (at 3.5kW, instead of current 3.7kW - not that it would have made a scrap of difference against 15kW peaks from the Raptors).

Sweet video. Thanks for posting. Wish I was there...looks like it was a blast. Maybe next year.
I wouldn't have been able to make it this year anyway with a 4 month old in the house, but I took a look at the requirements earlier in the year when you reminded us about this event and thought there was no way any of those kind of bikes would be able to race. From what I recall the list of requirements was basically full moto compliance with full DOT racing gear and triple fault tolerance on all the electrics and battery with BMS requirements etc.
Did they relax the requirements or something? How closely did they look over everything.

Also, what the hell was that horrendous noise coming from Jay's bike?

Well i have never tried the Stealth Fighter. But i do have a lot of experience with the Stealth Bomber. And yes you can easily ride with your mountain biking friends with your Bomber. But you must constantly use the throttle in combination with pedaling. Using pedals alone without the engine makes riding off road almost impossible. The bike is to heavy to handle steep hills or ink lines. But you soon get the handle of it with some practice. I use my bomber to ride with friends that has regular mountain bikes quite regularly. And yes i find that having 9 gears comes in very handy. I cant imagine just having just 2 gears. But fore street riding with your friends thats a completely different story i guess. But as i said i have no experience with the Stealth Fighter. Just 3.5 years with the Bomber.

Yeah I would expect to have to use throttle too (need to, to reduce strain on my bad knees etc) - but am just worried that trying to match speeds with them would mean I am either pedaling at stupidly slow or fast cadence with only 2 gears. Then I'd have to rely mostly/fully on throttle, which is not what I want to use the bike for. I still want some exercise from pedalling

Yah, your Fighter was just a little under powered, but it was a race between you and the E Pit bike. Clearly you were the better rider making up ground on him in the corners and he out accelerating you. I think if you had my Flux Alpha, it would have been closer. Granted with things turned up to the max I am only seeing 8.9 KW bursts, but that would have been more than enough to be up the butt's of the 15kw Raptors. Nicely done. Thanks for posting the video, I enjoyed watching it.

Yep, those are the rules and everything is scrutineered on both days before going out onto the track. Even Grinhill being an experienced motorbike rider and track day racer had a bad accident and ended up being carted off in an ambulance for surgery the next day, so it's for peoples own safety

Yeah, I had a little mishap there
I made the starting grid for the main race literally with 30 seconds to spare. As the other guys were lining up for the starting line I still had my laptop plugged in waiting for it to autodetect the combos on the controller. Talk about nail biting! I had to swap out the wheel at the last minute and the caliper was rubbing on the motor case every time I touched the brakes. I didn't realise until I hit the track and I'd had absolutely zero time to test it before the race

I think if you had my Flux Alpha, it would have been closer.
