E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

This probably sounds stupid, but even though I've ridden all my life, it's new being able to pedal and throttle at the same time.

What I've learned is to let the throttle decide what gear to be in, not how hard the pedaling is. Trying to drop down a few gears to get better pedal leverage, just wastes time.

I never shift. its always in top gear. I am thinking about removing all the shifting cables for a cleaner look.

Does anyone know how much is the motor torque of a new Bomber? (max. continuous and start-up torque if they are different, with its own controller)
Thanks!

I'm not always cruising at speeds fast enough for top gear. I range as far down as 6th sometimes.

It feels like a lot. I'm guessing between 6 and 10 ft lb

hmm, 10 ft-lb is 13.55Nm, but it should be around 100Nm (or more or a bit less), as it is a hub motor...

Yes, it's a great big honking hub motor. It feels like it could probably rip your arm off.

Today I rode 92 km and now I'm quite tired, even if the pedal assisted is not very strenuous it seems like a great exercise to keep fit :D
A good news is that mt PAS system is working, I will post soon the final details of the circuit and a video where you can see how the PAS works
This Bomber e-bike is amazing  Today I was in some trails 15 Km away from the house, which I had never seen before.

Glad your PAS is working out, not that I doubted it wouldn't  Near as I can tell with all of my searching, you are the first with a PAS on the Vboxx.

Sounds awesome, I'd be keen to have something like that. That's good mileage, some serious pedaling for that.

I've been spending 98% of my riding in street mode, you get tired of going so slow very quickly so end up pedalling past the speed limit and having it cut power... it's a great work out hehe

Combine it with a heart rate monitor to keep yourself in preferred zone and it's an awesome exercise bike.

You can simulate it here:
http://www.ebikes.ca/tools/simulator.html
Choose 5403 motor
About 100nm

This may sound like a dumb question but what way does the Suntour pedal's come off? Do I screw the hex clockwise or anti? And does it differ from left to right??

I'm loving these Hook Worms. I especially like the way they look compared to the Thick Bricks. I've run over some pretty nasty debris riding half blind at night while my headlight (now fixed) was on the blink, and it had no effect.

I think they're going to wear a little faster than the TBs but they do seem pretty resistant to flats so far.

The drive side is normal threads.
The left side is reverse threads

So far iv only had the left cramk arm off and it was normal undo
Was very tight so i shocked it with a block of wood and hit that with hammer, then when u undo it, it pushes crank off

So which is it???

Left=Anti clockwise and right=clockwise?

What do you want to know. How to get a pedal off, or a crank arm?

If pedals, right is normal thread, left is reverse thread.

The crank arms are both normal thread. To remove a crank arm all you do is unscrew the inner bolt. When it hits the outter cover, keep unscrewing and will force the crank arm off the spindle.

Hi guys.
Looking into getting a powerful off roader and I'm going back and forth between the Stealth offerings and the HPC offerings. I have a couple of questions about the Stealth.

1. How does the transmission on the Bomber work? Does it have a high enough gear to be able to pedal at high speeds > than 35 mph?

2. Is there any type of Pedelec with the Stealth bikes or are they Throttle only? If throttle only, do you find it difficult to modulate the throttle while pedaling?

I guess you dont want to read through 400pages, so:
Bomber with PAS

Yeah. 400 pages is a bit much and I"m sure things have changed since 2010. ;)

So it sounds like they come with Throttle only... I really think Stealth should offer that as an upgrade. I'm not sure I like having throttle only... I prefer a TS. Did you find the sensor made a big improvement?

The bikes works just fine with throttle only, just apply a small amount of throttle if you actually want to pump you muscles, you get used to it, it took a day for me.
But of course, ultimatley it would be nice to have a system similar to what eRockit have.
For me, CS is worthless you can do the same with throttle. But what is interesting is TS.

Whatever people want is fine as long as I don't have to have that crap on my bike. Throttle, or death to the infidels. :)

That's good to hear. Sounds like getting used to it is not that difficult. It seems as though all of the really powerful bikes come with throttle only. Probably eliminates some headaches for them. Torque sensors can be a little tricky to get dialed in correctly.

Side note: Off to Google eRockit... ;)
