Anyone know if any companies are offering a universal inexpensive canopy for ebikes ? Maybe something that just quickly attaches to the front+rear axle to be used in rain and then quickly taken off in good weather. I guess the big issue with something like this, would be wind drag or if a gust of wind comes from the sides and hits the full area of the canopy making it hard to control the ebike. Seems like these canopies are popular overseas but not here in America.

There's a few threads about various canopies

if it helps. There's more than just those but they come up with that particular word. Within the various "rain" threads there's stuff, too

You can DIY them too; see the recent posts in my SB Cruiser thread for a link to the portion where I built my own (more sunshade than rain cover since we have mcuh more of the former than the latter, here) from an old folding cot, naugahyde/vinyl cover, and bagged insulation. (I actually built it for CrazyBike2 but it's on SB Cruiser now, as I ride the trike a lot more).

The traditional and proven rain "canopy" for cycling is a poncho with hand attachments:

It gives a combination of good coverage, good airflow, packability, low weight, low cost, and safety in crosswinds. I doubt you'll do better in any regard by attaching something to your bike, without also doing a lot worse in other regards.

It only works in combination with full fenders.

They also protect the electrics on your bike from the rain, and they can be used as a bike cover when you park it. Everybody should have one.
