Has anyone done any research on the dangers of EMF? I'm looking at buying a house close to some power lines, so i was reading a bit about it. It made me wonder how much my ebike is spewing out. Has anyone tried to measure this? Any suggestions on a gauss meter to order? Many of them only seemt do 60Hz or so. Any idea what hz to measure for on an ebike?

This one says it's good for ghost hunting :) http://www.homedepot.com/buy/electrical/home-automation-security/cellsensor-emf-detection-meter-67834.html

Could i just put an antenna that will pick up 60hz across my volt meter, to see if one area creates more emf in one area than another area?

I dunno but one day while measuring with calipers on the bike. While it was charging, the calipers would go haywire on any part of the bike I'd put it near. I thought the caliper battery was dying. Tried again and still went haywire. Finally unplugged the charger (400wBMS) and calipers worked fine. So yeah I imagine the cheap chargers give off emf.

There is a thread someone started a while back (maybe last year?) asking about this same thing; some numbers were put up in it, and some explanations, but I don't have a link to it. You might try the google site search feature to see if you can locate it.

I'm going to see if i can build a cheap EMF detector with an arudino. Not sure how I'm going to sort out the frequency. But should be able to compare one device to another device.

Something like this.
