I plan on building 2x(dual) Tacon Bigfoot 160s powered by 8S.

Until I can afford all the parts, I was wondering if I could get away with just using a single Tacon BF160 and 6S or 8S--would one BF160 powered by 6S or 8S have enough power to get around, flats and slight inclines? Probably with Turnigy Trackstar 200a, or maybe Mamba xl2.

I just have no experience with these motor's power and capability. Thanks

My friend runs a single tacon 160 on 6S with 20:72 gearing on a 5.5" onda wheel. Definitely has enough torque/power. Just make sure you gear it appropriately (ie ~20 mph).

It'll definitely have enough power, but off road you will be missing out on some much needed traction from the second or fourth motor :D

Thanks guys--thats a big help to my figuring this out. thats a hell of a gear ratio. Yeah, my board now is single wheel drive--the tire tread wears so quickly on that side--but my motor is SO heavy.

Running 2 of those motors on my MTB and on only 6s and it feels good. It's geared at 1:5.5 gives me ~25mph with good traction on and off road.

would like to go to 8s though.

Let me know what range you get. I have terriable range at 4.4miles (lipos are at ~150cycles)

Good luck.

Yeah 6S would be enough but if you wanted more leg room. You can go 12S 5ah or more.

Just because it's 12S doesn't mean you need to use all the power but you have it if you need it.

2x 4S Hardcase for 8S = $60
2x 6S Hardcase for 12S = $80

Login Into your account to get cheaper prices:

USA PRICES:

4s 5ah = $25 each = $50
5s 5ah = $42 each = $80
6s 5ah = $42 each = $80

Once your going 10s, 12s will be the same price but 8s is cheaper by $30.
